After his summer league display he was not going to be anything more than a 3rd stringer on this team. He was really struggling out there.

how dare you?! Stone is a genius, and the king of the NBA draft. it only cost a 2nd rounder who cares. who do you want to draft anyway, Jamal Shead? don't forget Stone just stole Reed Sheppard at #3 in the draft like one of a kind genius, there'll be no minutes for Jamal Shead. and the $3.9millions lost is not our money anyway so it's not too horrible ok? ;)

Always thought Doug McDermott is TJ McConnell and vice versa McConnell is McDermott.

His family should monitor him over concerns of self-harm these next few years.

Come on now, he didn't "steal" anything. The two dumbass coaches who drafted before him were blinded by Wembymania and drafted lanky french guys who don't look close to as good a player as Reed does.

You realize you could apply this to any draft steal? “Hey, OKC was blinded by two protected FRPs and didn’t look close enough at Sengun.”

I gotta go with none of the above.

I'd wait for the other teams to finalize their rosters and pick up someone then - there's gonna be quite a few young talented players that won't make final rosters, just take a flyer on one of them.
They could stand to add depth at PG, SG and a really athletic C/PF.

I was thinking the same thing. We are only a few weeks away from final cuts. Rockets can pick up a decent 3rd stringer then.

Nah that's absolute nonsense, sorry. He was drafted ****ing 3rd overall, that's not a steal. A draft steal is a Sengun or a Jokic where the consensus had them as a low pick, lots of people missed them and then they overperformed their position where they should really have been a top pick. Sheppard's a 3rd pick with no actual NBA games yet to even see how good he is. What an absolutely ridiculous, nonsensical load of bullshit you're trying to peddle right now...

Sorry, but this is a bunch of nonsense. If Sheppard ends up being the best player in the draft, he’s a steal at 3, regardless of the circumstances. To suggest otherwise is pure idiocy.
