May feel like these are the end of days.

Others speculate that he never really liked basketball.....similar to rumors
Evan Mobley didn't really like basketball as he came out of college.

What really upsets me is he is leaving the team before we can get an AJ Griffin is the Rockets Franchise Player Thread up and running. He just needed one regular season game where he scored 10 or more points to get it. Tragic.

At least he gets to be a Rockets legend now.

We need to elevate the better legends to Gods so that there is a clear higher level.

Robert Reid part 2, he will be back in a year or so.

Reid did almost the same thing......

Evan still doesn't seem like he likes basketball. He's just good enough at it. Lots of Euro footballers are like this.

AJ probably has other things going on beyond the "religious" and family stuff. Rockets probably saw another potential KPj situation (not identical) and decided to cut bait.

Well you can’t fault someone for stepping aside if they aren’t wanting to be there. If he has a calling that he’s answering, more power to him.

Because walking away from a basketball job is a huge deal, not many people have the ability to get onto an NBA court, however spend years trying to punch a ticket into the club.

It will be interesting if he just needs to address a few thing and would want to come back eventually? I was excited about his 3 point shooting potential.

I’m so sad. If I was in his shoes, getting paid millions to play the game we love and be able to support your family and maybe generations to come is something I would never take for granted.

On that note aside, I hope he’s ok.

I liked the gamble but it was doomed from the start. He was never gonna get a real shot. If Tate can barely get time, he had no chance.

Open roster spot, where does it go?

    On camp deals
    Hinton
    Samuels

    On 2-ways
    Dante
    McVeigh
    Williams

    FA's
    Boban - gone
    Bullock - maybe?

Good for him, choosing actual mental health over money unlike Bum Simmons who just used it as an excuse while collecting them checks.

Sucks to lose a 2nd round pick which are more valuable these days due to CBA changes to salary cap.

Hope we take some look at some prospects that can shoot or good defender types.

Meh, wasn’t impressed with the basketball side at all. So, that doesn’t bother me one bit.

I seem to remember quite a few people crying that the Rockets didn’t draft him. Well…

On the human side of things, I sincerely hope he is or will be ok.
