This is laughable. So if my goal is to get you to punch me in the face, and you do so, I've won?

No, Finnegan needed to be put in his place a long time ago. Would you feel the same way if an NBA player(Rocket or not) did something like this to Karl Malone or John Stockton in the mid 90s to bring attention to their dirty play?

No, I think his goal is to get you thinking about him and not the play/your team. AJ is just so ice cold that Finnegan had to keep digging deeper and deeper to get under his skin. He dug to deep, and had to pay the piper. I can almost guarantee you that what Finnegan did or said on the plays before the last two could include the words classless, cheap, dirty, and bush league.

The Chronicle posted a correction now and took down that article:

Correction: No word yet on punishment for Johnson
    Copyright 2010 Houston Chronicle

Chron.com incorrectly posted a story this morning saying the NFL had reached a decision on the Andre Johnson fight situation.
    Chron.com regrets the error.
When a decision is reached, Chron.com will post the story.

1st of all he got manhandled trying to play tug-of-war...when that didnt work he threw a punch at Dre's helmet...once he realized his helmet was off, he took off Dre's helmet and flung it...This enabled Dre to see him more clearly ....then a 3 piece to the skull made him wobbly all while smiling ala Thomas Hearns/Hagler.....

Definitely agreed. I understand that there are players that attempt to get under your skin, but this is only beneficial to the team WHEN IT WORKS! What good did Finnigan do for his team by getting his ass beat when they're down 20-0?

Yes. If somebody is trying to get you to do something, and you do it, they've accomplished their goal. Did Finnegan get hurt? No. There is a reason he never quits smiling. He enjoys it.

Do you think Finnegan will quit trash talking, and taking cheap shots? No. That is how he plays the game. Now he knows he can get to AJ. He is protected by officials and teammates, so he isn't going to get the beatdown that would be necessary to shut him up. I've known people just like him. They get beaten, but they keep talking. And it just drives you more and more crazy.

Why do you assume Finnigan didn't get hurt? He was nailed in the side of the head. Showing pain != receiving pain. Why do you assume he enjoys it? Because he smiled? I bet that's also why he left the locker room immediately after the game, and shut down his twitter account. He must really love being the laughingstock of the sportsworld. I've seen plenty of assholes acting tough after getting their ass beat to know that they are in fact putting up an act. (as Cortland is always doing)

Also, I didn't ask if his goal was accomplished, I asked who won. I'm not sure what positive Finnigan gained from this.

Which is why leaguewide there are wide receivers high fiving and patting Andre Johnson on the back. It took AJ all of 2 seconds to give Innegan a little of what was coming to him.

If what he is doing is wrong, and the league will not stop it, then I honestly fear for his well being on the field. If he comes out of this incident unscathed(which is the 4th one this season), there will be a lot of guys going after him. It might be a 5th WR coming in during the 3rd quarter looking to rough him up pretty good. But trust me, the more he gets away with it, the more escalation you will see when someone snaps.

I'm sorry, but after your 4th incident you shouldn't have anyone getting your back. Especially not the league or the officials. He's made his bed, and he needs to lay in it.

What did Johnson win? A fine? A suspension?

I know Finnegan isn't hurt because he isn't bleeding, he isn't on the injury report. You think as you would think. You probably don't go out trying to get reactions, while others do. Finnegan isn't acting tough. He enjoys annoying others.

Exactly. He only brought more attention to his "tactics". You better believe the refs are going to look more closely at him in future games. The league has already warned him in the past, so his fines and possible suspensions are only going to be more severe. Look at Harrison, he's going to get flagged on any tackle that might have appeared to be illegal. Maybe his goal shouldn't be getting into opposing WRs heads but actually making plays that help his team win.

I don't think he will be doing some of the cheap shots to AJ.

whether it was right or wrong, effective/ineffective. AJ embarrassed him nationally. I don't think Cortland wants to look like a b**** twice.

    FAIL!!

    Article quote:

I know it shouldn't bother me, but the fact that the national media still mixes up the names "Titans" and "Texans" makes me crazy.

Dennis Rodman was extremely good at this. He does just enough to get under your skin to make you do something stupid.

I think you are missing the part where he punched Andre in the face.

Beat senseless? I wouldn't call that senseless by any means. Finnegan got the best player on a division opponent ejected and possibly suspended.
