Has anyone seen the movie Zero Hour? Its the movie Airplane! was um "based" on. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051221/ I caught part of it once at 7AM in a hotel in Salt Lake City and it was like a bizzarro version of Airplane! with almost the exact same speech from above except played completely straight. There even was a Johnny. Unfortunatly I was only able to catch about half an hour of it and have never seen it since. To my knowledge its not available on tape.
Ted Striker: It's Lieutenant Hurwitz. Severe shell-shock. Thinks he's Ethel Merman. Lieutenant Hurwitz: [singing] You'll be swell, you'll be great. Gonna have the whole world on a plate. Startin' here, startin' now. Honey, everything's comin' up roses... Ted Striker: War is hell.
[Thinking to himself] Ted Striker: I've got to concentrate... [his thoughts echo] Ted Striker: concentrate... concentrate... I've got to concentrate... concentrate... concentrate... Hello?... hello... hello... Echo... echo... echo... Pinch hitting for Pedro Borbon... Manny Mota... Mota... Mota...
Reporter: What kind of plane is it? Johnny: Oh, it's a big pretty white plane with a red stripes, curtains at the windows, wheels, and it just looks like a big Tylenol.
Hello. We'd like you to have this flower from the church of religious consciousness. Would you care to make a donation?
MY best scene: [Disco music in the background] [Cut to a girl and a sailor dancing on the dancefloor, lights, other people around] [Another sailor stabs the girl's dancing partner with a knife from behind] [As he feels the knife stuck, the partner starts to point at the knife on his back repeatedly while dancing] [The girl mimicks the partner's pointing at the knife to the beat while dancing] [Music keeps going] 2nd best scene: [the jugs shaking]
Kramer: "I want every light you have poured onto that runway." McCrosky: "We're doing that right now" ...dump truck drops a bunch of lamps onto runway...
Air Traffic Controller: "This guy's all over the place! Eight hundred feet...down to 200 feet...back up to 500. Geez, what an a$$hole!"
Point/Counter-Point Guy: "They knew the risks, they knew what they were getting into. I say...let 'em crash!"
Kramer: (reads headline) "Passengers doomed to die!?!?!?" McCrosky: (reads headline) "Airline negligent!?!?" Johnny: (reads headline) "There's a sale at Penny's!?!?!?"
I want the kids in bed by nine, the dog fed, the yard watered and the gate locked. And get a note to the milkman - no more cheese!
Howabout the manual repair for the autopilot? I've been tempted to ask women to help me repair my autopilot.
2 more I remembered just now: [bridges' character... on the phone... trying to remember who Ted Striker is...] "Striker... striker... striker..." [behind him, their faces hidden, a woman is approaching a man] "Striker!" [the man behind him strikes the woman] -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- [behind Bridges' character, a guy meets another guy] [one pulls out a bag of what seems to be some dried up leaves] [the other one asks for something with his hands] [the first one's hands say there's no money] [the other punches the first one and takes the bag]
