I barely read your post RocketBurrito and I didn't read a single post in this thread because it is all probably going to make me sick but let me tell you this - I am an Aggie and I was rooting for Texas so don't give me some lame **** like Aggies hate Texas because they hate UT. Just because some drunk idiots at a bar are making an ass out of themselves doesn't mean that all Aggies are that way. The only reason Aggies hate UT so much is out of mutual respect. That is how a good rivalry gets started. That is why we don't have a rivalry with Baylor. And yes we lost to Tech, RC is always outcoached in the big game like Mack is and out program is in serious jeopardy as long as the RC era continues but don't think for a minute that A&M people are all like drunk idiots at a bar.
notre dame is the only college football program worth paying attention to. ...and UT fans are ignorant as their football team is overhyped. notre dame is to the NBA, as every other college football program is to the WNBA.
ROTFLMFAO And when was the last National Championship for Notre Dame, Irish boy, I mean Holden?? 14 years ago in 1988 Yup, you know what you are talking about....
wait... but..who has the most national championships all time again? why dont you look at the history books and check that out? i dont know who you root for...but scoreboard...b**ch
I hope you are being sarcastic. ND hasn't been on the college football map (come Sept) since 1993. I don't care what ND did in the 1920s. Chances are you weren't born during then, and you shouldn't really care either.
well...say what you want...but i started liking ND in 1990 when i was old enough to comprehend sports....so ive been through the hard times... and i know two facts... #1 Notre Dame is the greatest football program of all time... #2 Notre Dame is better than Texas, OU, and A@M this season and the same will be true next season, and the season after that... and yet again...bottom line..check the scoreboard...
Is it just me, or were OU and UT fans alike both rooting for Florida State today? It's just nice that we could all come together for something.
OK, OK. Granted my thread heading is a wee bit over the top, but it wasn't just "a few drunk idiots in a bar" that were acting like this - it was DAMN NEAR EVERYONE IN A FREAKING MAROON T-SHIRT that I ran across this weekend in Waco! This was what shocked me - the bitterness & vitriol in their booing & that so many of them felt this way. It was as if their was some deep anger within them - the kind people have in Lifetime movies after they have grown up having been molested -that caused them to lash out. I tried consoling them by telling them that they had a nice marching band they could clap for, and hey, they beat Baylor & every team in Louisiana that isn't named LSU, but they would have none of it!
That was a funny post! However, I don't see how you are so surprised... College football fans have intense hatred for their rivals. I think as far as passion/hatred goes, it's 2nd only to European/South American soccer.
i guarantee you..."Comic Book Guy" is not a Yale fan....(plus i dont believe that Yale has more championships than ND. because last time i checked ND had the most ever. ((show me a link)) . even so.. notre dame, has more titles than whatever f**king team he roots for...and i was rooting for ND...before i knew that...1990
Nope, I'm not a Yale fan. Why don't you check my f*cking profile, b****. Then you would see that I am a Miami fan. And Miami has won, let's see, 5 national championships since 1983, and 3 of those coming after that vaunted program of Notre Dame's last NC. Oh and it's too bad that you started rooting for Notre Dame in 1990 because you would have loved the Miami and Notre Dame game in 1985 when Miami drilled your boys 58-7. Boy, did I love that game. Oh and I am sure that you were rooting the whole time during the championship runs of Rockne, Leahy, and Parseghian (you probably don't have a clue of who those people are...I'll give you a hint - they are old coaches of Notre Dame). The bottom line is that this thread has nothing to do with Notre Dame, but you make an asinine statement that they are the NBA and everyone else is the WNBA or something stupid like that, then hell yeah, you deserve to have the **** ridiculed out of you because you don't know what in the hell you are talking about it. How about going back to the frownie face dude? At least he had a clue every once and a while.
wow, i didn't think this thread could get any lower, but now we're arguing about Yale and ND??? so wait, some people are saying that past championships and stats don't matter, than some people are saying that they do. I wish you guys would come to a consensus so that I can decide whether or not Texas' superior record in the RRS over OU is a "scoreboard b****" slogan that holds water
Yeah, lets bring up ND's national championships back 100 years ago. Same exact thing as me saying "Damn those Yankees KICKED ALL YALL ASSES 49-53".
It is posts like this that makes kidrock one of my favorite posters when it comes to college football. This post is succint and to the point and it makes sense.
I started off mocking this thread, but to be honest I don't understand a lot of things Aggies do, and I'm a freshman at A&M. What I have figured out while I've been here is that they seem to define themselves by UT, something I really don't understand or particularly like. I'm sure I'm about to get run by Oski or the other Aggies on the board for that statement, but I truely believe it. Hopefully one of them will be able to explain it to me. Just look at the War Hymn and Saw Varsity's Horns Off . Its a joke. Maybe we believe that by UT losing we better ourselves in the eyes of the people of the state. I honestly don't know.
It is not a FACT that Notre Dame is better than Texas. They barely beat freaking Pitt. UT would DESTROY Notre Dame along with OU. It is also not a fact that ND is THE greatest football program. It is one of the top 5.
