Watch this discussion of Miami's salary cap situation and tell me he's going back to Miami with a straight face. Dude is leaving and the Rockets are among the top choices. http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/miami_heat
Well there were multiple tweets that mentioned something similar, saw the guy had 84k followers so decided to post his. But it is definitely being discussed right now, and ESPN also has an article up that the just updated at 11. I posted it on last page.
I read and summarized this from the following: http://heathoops.com/2014/06/miami-...55-million-in-potential-cap-space/#more-21619 Essentially, Wade and Bosh lost $42M by opting out but both can be resigned to long term deals in excess of $42M to recoup what they lost. For example, it is possible to resign Wade and Bosh to say 4yr/$56M? 4yr/52M? or even 4yr/48M? Another possibility is for Wade to agree to less and Bosh agrees to slightly more, so long as they stay within the designated range. If so, they would recoup the $42M that they lost by opting out and still get additional $8-16M. Why would they do it? Because a Wade/Bosh pay cut is the only way to keep LeBron in Miami and allow him to earn near max money, while at the same time, creating enough cap space to go after a FA or difference maker. Personally, I still believe that the Big Three still want to play together and that Riley, LeBron, Wade, and Bosh are working to do just that. If they are indeed working within the $55M salary reported above, this might not be enough to sign LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Haslem, and acquire Lowry (unless at least one of them decided to sign a one year contract), but, it might be enough to lamd them a Trevor Ariza, as suggested today on espn radio and various internet sites (bleacher report, for example). Is it so unreasonable that the “LeBron will not accept anything less than the max” is a clever ruse designed to fend off/scare off LeBron suitors hoping to interest him in a near max contract? I doubt money is the d riving force here (I think LeBron will accept a pay cut; just not for teams not named Miami). After all, he earned more than $70M dollars last year off the court. I’m in the minority I reckon but it makes sense to me that LeBron, Wade and Bosh would agree to a plan whereby LeBron receives near max money while Wade and Bosh take less (neither is likely to command max money on the open market), especially if doing so means keeping LeBron, making the team better, and providing long term job security for all. Why is this so unreasonable? In my opinion, the only way LeBron leaves Miami is if Riley, Wade, and Bosh have a change of heart and/or foil the plan, or, Riley is unable to acquire a quality FA of LeBron’s liking.

Heat writer speculating? he's in LA to pursue Ariza. (But said earlier it's unlikely.) Obviously missed on out Gortat and Lowry and it's unlikely they get Gasol, Deng or Ariza, due to money (or lack thereof) and the way the market is going right now. So Miami's potential targets? Channing Frye Rodney Stuckey Kris Humphries Marvin Williams Ed Davis Mo Williams Thabo Sefolosha
Mo Williams was an all-star with LeBron James! I am sure thats going to be the guy who seals it for them
Yep, that'll bring LeBron back into the fold! LeBron: Look, Pat, you know, it's been real. And me and my family? We love Miami. But the free agents are staying away. So, sorry, but--- Pat Riley: Bron! Hold on, just a second. Before you say another word. I just got off the phone with an agent. We got'im. He's coming here to Miami. Gonna sign tonight. LeBron: Who's gonna sign here? Pat Riley: (after dramatic pause, smiling) Thabo Sefolosha. LeBron: Thabo Sefolosha? Pat Riley: Am I good, or what? LeBron: The Thabo Sefolosha? Pat Riley: I told you I'd come through. LeBron: Wowee! Thabo Sefolosha! Pat Riley: What, are you being sarcastic? LeBron: Look, I'm signing with another team. See ya. Pat Riley: Now where are you going? Are you kidding me with this? HEY! Come back here! HEY! Do you know who I am? I'm Pat Riley. I made my bones while you were still going out with cheerleaders.
