This will be big. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh still haven't had sit-down to discuss future together, league sources tell Yahoo. Coming soon.</p>— Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) <a href="https://twitter.com/WojYahooNBA/statuses/481449438129713152">June 24, 2014</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
It makes sense no matter what he's planning to do. If he wants to leave Miami then he has to opt out. If he wants to take a paycut to allow Miami to go get more players then he has to opt out. It's like others have pointed out, what Bosh and Wade do will be the indicator of the Heat/Lebron's direction. The best case for Houston is that one or both elect not to opt out and make it more difficult for Miami to acquire players.
this essentially is gonna be the crux of the Miami Heat relationship...If Wade at this stage of his career is willing to part with 41.5 million for more titles that effectively wont affect his career status(same with Bosh)...Miami will retain its big three....my guess however will be that Wade is gonna be ok with getting a few more dollars. Lebron doesnt have to worry about his salary amount as much as the other two. Lebron was the highest earning NBA athlete because of his other deals! Wade is gonna make things clear in regards to their current relationship...money or titles...
Meeting with the Big 3 and Riley: Riley: Lebron, don't be a coward and go somewhere else to win a title. Men of courage stay in one play and fight together. Lebron: So you think I should have stayed in Cleveland? Riley: Um...listen to Wade! Wade: Lebron, I taught you how to win titles like Kobe wanted to teach Dwight. Lebron: Are you kidding me? Your knees are worse off than a $2 hooker! I carried you to titles! Wade: Um...listen to Bosh. Bosh: Hodor!
Lebron effectively has had a talk with Bosh and Wade and he used the media...Opt out or I will leave...
He might be willing to take a paycut along with Bosh if it means bringing in some additional help. I don't buy that this means he's leaving Miami. The Heat still offer a very easy path back to the Finals every year(at least compared to any team in the West).
There is NO chance LeBron goes to Chicago. He would get 10x more heat than when we went to Miami. Same with LA. And I don't even think GS has a chance to get him. It's pretty much Heat and Rockets
The problem with Cleveland is that Lebron said one of the reasons he left was he couldn't convince any other star players to want to come there. Has Cleveland suddenly become more desireable for other stars? Sure Kyrie, Lebron and the #1 pick would probably be the best team in the east. Lebron on virtually any team in the east would be favorites to make it to the finals. But unless that #1 pick is a superstar in year one then Lebron would be doing a lot of carrying the team to get there. Certainly it's possible that the Cavs #1 pick will be that kind of star, but it's a substantial risk to go there and hope for the best from a rookie and count on a ball dominating scoring point guard as your only proven all star level help. Their owner also made it personal with Lebron after he left which can't help their chances. Cleveland is a sentimental favorite, but I don't know how much that really matters.
The fact that LeBron made this decision himself, rather than it being a group discussion, is pretty telling. LeBron is looking out for himself. And if that's the case, I just want to say Dwight Howard, James Harden, Chandler Parsons, Patrick Beverley, Terrence Jones, no state taxes, everyone YOUNGER than you, LeBron, with no serious injury histories.
Michael Redd is the player Cleveland fans should hate. Lebron wanted him bad and Redd wanted to play with Lebron, but he wasn't going to leave money on the table to sign in Cleveland. He spurned Lebron and Cleveland, Boozer jumped out when they made that stupid contract decision and the Lerbons got stuck with Larry Hughes.
the other thing no one talks about is the relationship between gilbert and lebron...those two probably have never spoken in person to each other since the decision. what makes everyone think all is forgotten?
I mean Gilbert BLASTED Lebron on the way out the door. In case anyone has forgotten...(looking at you Lebron!) http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5365704
If Wade opts in I see no way that Lebron stays in Miami. He isn't taking a paycut and watching Wade sit out a quarter or more of the games to rest and make more money. The other key like I said earlier is whether the Heat are willing to pay an insane luxury tax penalty even if all 3 opt out and come back for less money. It was reported that Lebron might be open to taking less money, but he isn't doing it so that the owner can avoid paying the luxury tax.
He clearly opted out to take less money to make room for a better Roster, don't get your hopes up folks.
Is this the first scoop Multiple Sources has ever broke? He must have naked pictures of LeBron's agent.
