I recall literally no one predicted that the big 3 would be going to Miami. Not sure why they would know now...
Now way in hell with Lebron resign with Miami if Wade opts in. He isn't even worth 10 million let alone 22 million.
Exactly, all of the people that keep saying Lebron is staying in Miami sound exactly like those who thought Dwight was staying in LA. Basically they abandon all logic that says it won't happen and go with what the media is saying. I don't know if Lebron is coming to Houston, but I HIGHLY doubt he stays in Miami since Wade will almost certainly opt in meaning their championships contention is over.
Except that Miami went to the finals the last four years in a row, and if Wade/Bosh opt out, then will be in a good position to improve the team around him. It's a totally different situation than LA last year. I think LeBron staying will depend on Wade's decision. And he still might not leave. I'm guessing he's seriously thinking about leaving, but Miami is still the favorite, by a lot.
My point is that it's very unlikely that Wade opts out because he'll almost certainly never make 41 million dollars for the rest of his life if he opts out and takes a 10 mil a year deal. If he doesn't opt out, the Heat can't improve meaning it's almost 100% than Lebron leaves. It's a sinking ship, just like LA last year.
No way Wade opts in and LeBron stays. However, I just can't see Wade opting in. He won't screw his chances of playing with LeBron for the next 3 years. I can see him taking a 3-4 year deal in the neighborhood of $48-50m.
The Heat got together because the players brokered the deal long before Pat Riley got involved. It was their vision. I am sure they want to keep it going. Unlike Howard and the squad he was with in LA, they have accomplished a lot together. Lebron will give it another go with Miami.
Maybe, we'll see. I think Lebron values winning over hanging out with his friends. The Heat could walk back into the finals because the East is a joke, but I don't think they would have a very good shot of beating any of the top 4 teams in the West so it would be just another waste of his time.
I honestly don't see this. Perhaps I'm underestimating how much money players are willing to sacrifice to win, but the big 3 would have to take some hefty paycut for that team to be able to improve. Yes, they can probably add someone like Lowry. But that's partly offset by losing the likes of Battier, Birdman, Chalmers with veteran minimum guys. That's a sizable downgrade even if they get some ring chasing vets. Haslem also may end up needing to be stretched and count $1.5mil of dead money on the cap. Other than Melo going to Miami, I see no way they can improve their team to the point where LeBron isn't shouldering the entire offensive load.

I'll believe it when it actually happens, not when someone starts a rumor that it is going to happen, I'm not Ric Bucher.
Even if Wade does opt out, will he be willing to take a big enough pay cut to actually help the Heat retool? If he takes less money over the next few years, he will surely want to get extra years to compensate for the annual loss. Idk how long of a deal the Heat are willing to give D Wade...it should be interesting to see what happens.
Just saw this Rolls Royce Phantom with limo tint and Miami Heat license plates on 59 and Shepherd, anybody know if it may be related to James?
Woj: What do the Heat have to do to convince him to stay? Figure out in the near future how they can restructure some contracts, who's willing to take less and how much less? It's LeBron and everyone else. He shouldn't have to take less. He's tremendously underpaid for what he brings but there's a reality you have to weigh to create space. He needs to hear from Riley who they're going after and how they can get them. When they lost in the Finals, I thought it was more about player 4-10. Spurs depth destroyed them but they did that to everyone. Spurs were the best team. No question the better team won. They have improve that supporting cast. If there is a plan, I'd be shocked if he left in that's in place. If that's in place and he still wants to go, maybe he didn't want to stay at all. I don't think there are viable options to go to. Clippers have to gut their roster. I don't buy Cleveland. Houston is a mystery. I don't know how he feels about Harden and Howard and going to Houston. I don't see a scenario that is so appealing that he'd walk from the Riley & Spoelstra's track record and that they'll figure it out. Future of Kevin Love? I think right now Minnesota is looking for a one-sided deal. Once you get past the draft, Flip will coach this team, if Golden State gives them Barnes and Thompson, I think a deal could get done. Golden State is not ready to go there. Love has ruled out so many teams. Teams won't give up a bunch of assets for a guy who will walk. Love has limited himself by his willingness to go places. He may find himself in training camp and they can revisit this during the season. I know Flip believes this is a talented enough team to get into the playoffs. He may make Love come back. It won't be pleasant for him but you asked for it. When you ask out, this is what you have to go through. It's painful to get out of a place like this and Love may have to do it the hard way and go through another season there. Howard Beck: You tweeted Houston having a deal lined up for Jeremy Lin. How many teams have a shot at luring LeBron? Depends on whether you think he's leaving in the first place. Only reason to leave Miami is if he doesn't think Riley can restructure the surrounding cast. We're still waiting on Bosh and Wade. Assuming they do opt out like we all think they're going to do and all three agree to a total lesser package, then there's room for Riley to add talent, no reason to think LeBron leaves. That wipes out the entire discussion. Houston is making the smart move. We know there's someone good out there. We need to put ourselves in the running. Even if they don't get anyone, they haven't lost anything at this point. They're offloading Asik and getting back a pick. He wasn't staying there anyways. If they sign someone, great. The Lin deal is contingent on someone wanting to sign with them. They've set themselves up nicely but it's more of a make sure you're there to take advantage if it presents itself.
