They go into detail on some scenarios, but gloss over Chicago and Houston, which are the two destinations that, if logic dictates, would provide the best opportunities.
Doesn't mean he meant it. He said that during a contract year. He doesn't want to have a reputation of being hard to work with if he wants to be marketable.
2013: Dwight Howard signs with the Rockets and stated he loved McHale. 2014: Clutchfans, "No one wants to play for McHale." Makes you wonder. Why would any star player want to play for Rockets FANS? Clearly no one here has long term memory.
I don't understand why the Clippers keep coming up as possible destinations. I mean, they'd have to gut the team just to try and get near the room to sign LeBron. Why not bring up the Grizzlies, the Warriors, or the Thunder too while we're at it?
It is hard to know if the reports are true that we have trades lined up for Lin/Asik or not. On the one hand, those balloon payments suck. On the other hand, we still have a pretty good number of draft picks and some young talent that we could include if we needed to for another team to take those players- plus both of those players still have some value on the court as well. Either way, that is a much smaller hurdle to clear than trading an All-Star like Griffin or trading Jordan/Crawford/Dudley/Barnes and Bullock. Even with those cap gymnastics that it is explaining in this article for Miami to do (Bosh/Wade take 5mil less, Haslem takes less, dump everyone else besides Norris Cole)- would the Heat be that much better if they signed someone like Collison, Mills, Blake, Hill or McRoberts? Really? Wade would be one year older and one year less reliable. They would still have a big hole on interior defense and rebounding. Their bench would still be weak. I could see LeBron resigning with Miami because he is comfortable there, already has built relationships and because he is afraid what people would think about him if he left to another team. I can't see him choosing to go there for the best basketball situation.
1. Because they have elite talent. 2. Because they have a highly respected coach. 3. Because all elite/young NBA talent dreams of playing in Los Angeles. Those other teams you mention are missing at least 1 more more of the above 3 elements.
You're thinking too logically. If the Clippers switch cities with any of those teams, we're hearing talk about the LA team still.
I seriously doubt that. Even if LeBron fans are a little smarter than Lin fans (big assumption), there are many more of them so it brings the average down more.
can't believe there are people complaining about Lebron coming here because he wouldn't "fit" here with Harden. WELL GET OUT ITS FREAKIN LBJ. All said and done, I'm thinking this is a pipe dream. Lebron has better options besides Houston unlike Dwight Howard who otherwise would've had to choose the crappy broken down lakers, atlanta, dallas , or golden state, who would've had to clearly salary instead of signing him outright. Houston just made the most sense back then. Right now I just don't see it that way for Lebron.
Or he meant it. He wants to be part of one of the most explosive offenses in the league and play with Harden and Howard. He was part of what turned out to be an exciting situation and regrets not buying into the vision when he was here. Guess we'll never know
Not only that, but when Harden was traded here, Wade was a little skeptical about him being able to be the first option. After Harden's second game, LeBron read his stats out loud to Wade in the locker room after the Heat had played.
You are over thinking this. People will always have something negative to say. You go to Chicago and rose is continually hurt and you can't quite get to the finals or lose to the west(rockets). The criticism would be that Lebron was stupid for not going to houston. He goes to h-town and wins 3 titles in 5 yrs and he can't win on his own - has to hop to the next big 3 super team for an easy path to rings. Let them talk Lebron. Come to Houston. Win titles.
Link? I would love to read this. Damn LeBron defending his little bro. Too bad we won't be able to keep both the sibling bromance and the gay romance. One of them will not exist here after this free agency. (or will never have existed)
Exactly. It would be sweet as hell for LBJ to come to Houston, but I seriously doubt it will happen. I would give anything to be wrong about this.
