Just because I am a female doesn't mean I have to have a girly screen name. Anonymity was the goal.... I guess it worked. I figured after half the people in the chatroom knew I was a girl it didn't matter what yall thought here on the boards. So yeah I meant guy when I was talking about prospective mates. My door only swings one way.
I don't personally think the idea of a younger guy with an older girl in those type of age ranges because to be honest most guys are not gonna be mature enough for a stable relationship. They are out there to have and you will only have a select few who are completely different and hard to find. On the other hand I think an older Guy with a younger girl is pretty common due to that same reason. My serious girlfriend is 4 years younger than me and i think anywhere from 4-6 years is a good age gap. Of course there is an exception to every rule and it is a case by case thing but in every relationship i have seen the ones where the girl is older don't usually last because of the mentality differences. Not saying i haven't seen a few work but most of them don't.
Because of the maturity factor, if you have a thick skin and have similar goals in the relationship, then go for it.
This was doomed from the start. He's 18, lives in Miami and English is his second language. Three strikes. I was just curious to see if there are relationships that have that huge age difference. Although, I talk to him and it is weird when a 18 yr old calls you "honey" or "sweetheart". (He is a Cuban, so duh) His mentality is good, but very young. I can't see myself with a 18 year old guy. Never say never, I guess. I'll see how this will last. That is ok, we had a BLAST!! Bongo's was the best club we went to. (That'swhere I met the dude) The weather was perfect. I loved it there. I'm going back there in spring. Wow, that is a huge difference. How old are you? Haha, that was a good one. I always play safe by dating people around my age...I never dated someone with a huge age difference more than 3 years. Exactly. LOL, that was exactly what I did after meeting that guy! Why did you have to remind me? I know i am not getting younger! My birthday is coming up. Exactly! I was floored when he told me he was 18. I would never thought he would be 18...I thought he was in his early 20's. He seemed mature and he bought me a drink....i asked him how could he buy me a drink if he wasn't 21...he said it's Miami. *shrugs* Well, as long you're 18. Yeah, my friends kept calling me a cougar over the weekend.
here's my record of relationships after high school. age stated at start of: my age - her age (difference) 32 - 24 (-8) current 27 - 21 (-6) dumped me 25 - 19 (-6) dumped me 24 - 25 (+1) dumped her 23 -24 (+1) dumped her 22 - 19 (-1) dumped her 19 - 18 (-1) dumper her judging from the pattern, i should find someone +-1 years my age but i'm not smart enough to do that.
Right on. There's no point in worrying about what other people think as long as you're not hurting anybody.
I'm 31, but when I was 30 I went out with a 24 year old (she turned 25 about a month later), but people looked at us and didn't see any real age difference.
we met in church choir, i was a hired, uhm, gun. she was married, left her husband. it was all very sordid, but in a compassionate conservative kind of way. actually, this was in the 70's- i was a radical then.
I'm gonna agree that age difference matters less as you get older. 25 and 18 is pushing it. I'm 23 right now, and I can't see dating anyone younger than 19. Then again, I do have a tendency to date older women... I've dated someone more than 4 years older than me, and the youngest I've ever gone was 1.5 years younger.

I'm 34. She's 51. When I am talking to her, the age difference never enters my mind. We have great conversations about politics, life, etc etc. This has not always been easy because some people just don't get it. When we are out about town, dealing with businesses, the salespeople without being told refer to her as my wife, so it must seem natural. This is the happiest I have been in years.
lol, it doesn't even matter when a guy dates a younger girl. it doesn't. half the replies in this thread are pointless. i've been married this and this and my wife's older. great. no one cares. the question that really matters is how young does a 25 year old woman go? hell, 20 year old guys can date 12 year olds or 34 year olds. doesn't matter. with women, it's a little weird seeing a 25-27 year old dating a 18-20 year old guy.
