Granted, they aren't what i went to school for, some of them don't even require high school education but they pay decently and some can lead to very good paying jobs. it took a long time of unemployment fro me to really value having anything.

but the point is this, the internet isn't bad and hasn't been bad for me overall, but you to get out and meet people anyway you can.

...until you get that stay at home job and then you can be a hermit again.

Thats my line and I'm sticking to it!

    Good for you though!

thanks. i think the main point is if you are willing to start over, but you don't know what you want to do, but do have some general idea (or no idea) you have no idea what all is out there.

How do you approach them, or... what is it that you're telling them... about not having a job or needing one?

Imagine that, that all-important college experience doesn't mean everything.

Ahh. The internet. The place where you can say things that you wouldn't dare saying to someone's face.

i work for an O&G company and it blows my mind how much this business is about networking. make people like you, show you're competent and witty over the course of a few happy hour meetups, and the opportunities open up like crazy. they kind of tell you about it in college, but i wayyyy underestimated how effective networking can be.

    g'luck pgabs!

Networking is probably the most important thing you can do for a job search. I don't know many people who would just hire someone, or even interview, from just a resume and application on the internet.
