How is defending Mike James divisive?

Rafer didn't play that bad, sure he didn't have a good stat-line, but he didn't shoot us out of the game like he did last year. Its quite simple, once rafer starts doing poorly you put in Mike James. I just don't like having Mike James start and waste minutes passing the ball to Yao and Tmac. I rather give Mike James the green light and have him be aggressive going to the rack every chance he has when he is in with the 2nd unit. I like him finishing games too, so coming off the bench would give him more energy to do so.

I'm excited that Mike James is here and he's been playing awesome, I think he's going to have a great season. BUT, I don't think MJ should start. I love that we have some firepower coming off the bench. I'm good with Mike being in during crunch time, but I still choose Rafer to start the game. Perhaps Steve will take that roll from him later on, but right now I choose Rafer to start...but I'm good with James getting more minutes. To be fair though, Rafer had some big 3s tonight.

Yeah, that was supposed to be sarcastic. I think MJ's earned a shot at starting. As for Rafer I hope they can move him for a Jarret Jack or even Travis Diener :p

You know what I noticed. They weren't having james pass Yao the ball... that was bonzi's duty. That may be why James wasn't being a ballhog. He'd just make the simple perimeter pass to bonzi who made the harder post pass.

Mike James is Magic...He's a spark..his shot is really accurate even against momentum or under pressure. his speed gave the great deron williams trouble..i think he needs more shots but tmac was just hot tonight.

you can't compare that to Smith/Cassell. Rafer can't shoot or run a low turnover offense like you know who.

Can you imagine if you are allowed to hand check again? what would happen to Rafer?

I wasn't aware of Mike James haters here. The haters usually direct their hate toward Rafer or Stevie.

I hate to say I told everybody so, but I did...We need other people to score besides t mac and I can care less about assist if we are winning and th eball is going in the basket. He is what this team needs so mike james haters need to chill for the rest of the season.

I don't usually like to use the word "hater" or "haters" because it's overused and juvenile, but you have to be kidding! Where have you been? Mike James has been crucified by a good portion of this board in countless threads. Those members can enjoy the feathers. I don't know if crow is a dish best served cold. If cold doesn't work, try a microwave.

There are Mike James haters? Man, they got haters for everything.

There's no denying Mike James has been selfish with ball in the past. Not sure how that can be denied. If that makes someone a hater for acknowledging this fact, then I guess everyone is a Mike James hater including all Toronto and T-Wolves fans.

Anyway, he definitely has the skills to back it up and is letting his shots come to him so far this season. It will be huge if he shoots over 40% 3pt for the year. He'll be a sixth man of the year candidate if he keeps this up. I liken this to what the Maves are doing with Jason Terry. Sure he's better than Devin Harris, but bringing him off the bench when Dirk and other starters are out gives them more consistent offensive firepower throughout the entire game. There's never a lull. It's awesome and just wears down opposing defenses.

MJ would've made the team better, but can you trust Hayes and Novak for 48 mins?
