he said (very briefly) that Chuck huddled the team at center court and just talked about how it's them against the league because they have no "stars".

At what point did Chuck say "we have each other's backs...except you Trevor, because you suck" in the speech. I know he did.

I think you guys are blowing this way out of proportion.

The team against Morey? I highly doubt it.

The team is having problems now, and a captain is doing his job and stepping up as the glue-guy. He probably said something like, put your heads down and focus on each game, putting in the effort like they are known to do.

Once the story comes out, I could be proved wrong, but I think 'mid-season maintenance' sounds about right, as a low-key pep talk.

Around this time two years ago:

    [rquoter]
He has not called a team meeting or extended his comments to anything that could be called a speech. Hayes did in January 2008, when Rockets players met the day after a particularly bad loss to the 76ers. Days later, they took off on a 22-game winning streak.

“I remember that,” Hayes said. “I was frustrated. I guess I had a lot on my mind. At first I wasn't going to speak. But I forgot who said something that made me itch a little bit and I had to say what I wanted to say.”

The story is a good read.

I like Chuck a lot. I hope he's with the team awhile, especially if it means he's primary backup at the 4 and 5 as opposed to starting 5, which has got to wear him down.
