thank you.... someone who agrees with me!!!! On top of that Mcgrady even hasn't played a full season this year..... There are 39 players in the league who average more minutes than Mcgrady and most of them didnt take a 12 game break...... Are they getting excused by their fans.... I swear Mcgrady fans is like the mother who always spoils their child..... He hasnt even played a god damn full season!
Morey can do nothing to get Calderon. Toronto looks more likely now to trade Ford in the offseason and go with Calderon, and they have Bird Rights on him. Any offer the Rockets can make, the Raptors can and will match. Unless we're ready to part with at least one of Scola or Landry, a sign-n-trade is likely out of the question as well.
What's with all the guys bashing the TC? This is a legitimate question worth exploring. Just because McGrady wears the Rockets red doesn't mean that he's a superhero incapable of fault. McGrady clearly looked lazy these past two games, due to exhaustion or not. But the point is, he's our superstar and he needs to lead by example. His play on the court contradicts the status that he places on himself, and this is worth discussing. I'm not arguing that McGrady lacks motivation, I'm justifying this thread. No anti-McGrady thread is worth 1 star just because it's not a positive thread.
You guys must have your hate-glasses set to max. There's these plays/sets they run. Some of them, have Tracy off the ball moving to get in open position on the wing. This is a lot of the plays. He's posting up real high on the wing, to iso and then the team depends on him to create or score. That's one main play. Another is where he is on the opposite/weak side, and is SUPPOSED to stay out of the way. The play is for the other players (typically 3 of them, PF, Skip, and Battier), moving around setting each other picks. If Mac goes and runs into that, he's going to crowd that side of the court. Tracy is running the play that is called when a play is called. You are seriously jaded with hate if you think he never runs around trying to get open. That is simply not true. Hate or love the guy, I don't care. But don't speak out of ignorance or blinded hate.
Whoever throught the Lesbian post... Props to you.. that was good... TMac is not a superstar anymore. You only see glimps of it very so often. If is tired then sit out. Eventhough he passes the ball like that, he should know when to take the shot and when he should pass. I still think his Bball IQ is not as high as it should, it doesnt help that he looks lazy. He takes J's when should be going to the basket to go to the line. I do agree he looks lazy and he slows the ball down too much, instead of pushing it. He's a bit cocky like still as good as he was.He keeps saying "impose his will" he cant do that vs. NBA stars. I dont think He'll ever win a ring because he doesn't have the will and the heart to get far.
Although I think the ultimate goal is a ring, a lot of us just want post season success first. Saying he'll never get a ring isn't really going out on a limb. If it were easy, everyone would have one.
This might just be me, but... McGrady's energy level was not up there (read: lazy) at the start of the season. It was the old McGrady we all come to know and dread, one who doesn't know how to play off the ball, one who doesn't show the extra effort, one who disappears when the game is on the line. And then Adelman started putting Landry into the rotation. Landry was the energizer bunny off the bench, relentlessly attacking the basket and going after loose rebounds. Landry's level of activity on court not only inspired the team, but also (dare I say) put pressure on McGrady to put in more effort. I remember after McGrady came back from the knee problem and Landy had a good game (but before The Streak started), McGrady said to the media something in the nature of "I need to spent time before game to work on my shot. I need to do what the other guys are doing on the court. Or I might be dragging the team down." And I was almost certain that he was refering to Landry. It should come to no one's surprise that with TMac's work ethics in the past, he wasn't going to keep it up for any extended period of time. And it could very well be that McGrady is tired. I just think it's an extremely poor excuse for a professional basketball player, since we're not the only team in the league to have 5 games in 7 nights (with the NO game being the 3rd of the 5). It might turn out that the intangibles which Landry brings to the table are even more important than everything else he does so well on the court.
My sentiments exactly. THE GUY IS SO TALENTED BUT HE'S A HEADCASE. He also likes to talk about how he's "getting old" and how "there's a log of mileage" on his body, but check out his season by season totals for games played... http://www.nba.com/playerfile/tracy_mcgrady/career_stats.html For a guy that misses that many games, there's no way he should be "breaking down" like he hints at. I'm telling you guys, it's all mental with him. His head is the only thing that's holding this guy back.
Oh lord, it was only a matter of time for the trade T-Mac threads to pop up. You win 22 in a row but then lose 2 in a row and all of a sudden your superstar sucks and he needs to be traded. God it really irritates me how fickle some fans are. It didn't use to get to me before, but it really is annoying now. GTFO and stop supporting the Rockets if you want to talk about trading the stars after every loss!
No one else in the nba gets doubled and tripled off of the first step because other teams have players that would either make the open shot or drive to the rack and get fouled. Watch Kobe and Lebron, they are already at the free throw line before the help comes. Tmac gets doubled at the 3 point line. Teams can't do that to the lakers because Odom might go off for 30.
Rubbish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tracy has been carrying the team since Yao went out and making all the other players play better, just like Yao was! Tracy and Yao have been over worked and playing too many minutes. The last two games Tracy was exhausted and really needed to be rested! In the game against NO the coach went asleep and over played all of the starters, almost as though he didn't care a damn!!! Morey,we still need Artest...........................he would become our third scorer
say whatever you want about mcgrady, but please PLEASE do not pull the "tired" card again. 80%+ into a long nba season, which starter is NOT damn tired? which team is NOT tired and has to deal with injuries and fatigue? mcgrady played a 48-minute game last friday and has been "tired" on sunday, tuesday and wednesday? deke, being the oldest in the league, played 34 minutes and produced a double-double last night. i've yet to hear him say he's tired. battier defended kobe 47 minutes. scola has seen increased minutes since yao went out and he hustles literally every second he's on the floor. jvg played rafer 40+ minutes almost every single game last year. i've never heard any of them say they're "tired". shame on mcgrady's fans seeking the "tired" excuse for him, tirelessly. shame on mcgrady too for that "i'm tired" half time comment on abc. this "tired" thing, if exists, is all mental. but if one is mentally tired, no one can help but the player himself. tired? of what? winning (22 in a row)? or just tired of playing the game?
The reason why he isn't performing is because he is tired AND he is being double teamed extremely well. The double teams are hitting him instantly when he gets the ball causing him to dish it off. I GAURANTEE THAT IF WE GET LANDRY BACK HE will be rejuvinated
If we start making open shoots again and if we start hitting 3pointers when he is doubled, he will have a lot easier task cause opponent's defense will have to quartd those shooters too and he won't get that many double-teams.
tmac reminds me of the kobe bryant that surfaced in game 7 vs their series vs the suns a few years ago, except the tmac version surfaces way too often.
