I think Will Smith will buy at least one of these items.

This is sad. He should at least keep his MVP trophies and championship rings..

If I had the money, I'd buy them and give him the stuff back.

This is sad, at least he's trying to honour his payment...
Hopefully a good-hearted person will give him the money or the NBA should take it and hold it until he can pay off the loan

A bank foreclosed on a house he owned also. Despite being a superstar in his era, he probably never made more in his whole career than say Stromile Swift made in one MLE contract.

Sucks that he had to sell his stuff, but hopefully this keeps him set for awhile. Also, he lives in Utah?

It's good that he got enough money to cover the foreclosure and the lawsuit.

He needs more cash for retirement, though. Dr. J should look to George Foreman's agent and work on product endorsements. It would be a way to make money without needing capital.

You know what if all the players talk about it isn't about money but its about the principle and teh future of the league. They should include a clause and request in the CBA to give more money to retired players more opportunities anyways. To see DR J one of the top 50 ever have to do this is ashame

I don't think I could buy another man's trophies. Seems kind of lame.

Wow I had no idea he was not handling his money better. With all the commercials and assorted promos I have seen him in through out the years I just assumed he was still living the dream.

Dr J is one of my favorite all time players. I wish TNT would pick him up and pair him with Barkely on the basketball shows. He would be a hundred times more entertaining and informative than Chris Webber or the Glove.

No doubt he made some bad investments or or made some bad decisions based on bad advice. With all the commercials and the money he's made in the NBA plus the movies, he should have been set.
