So... 2 hot teams facing each other.

I was speaking more about how would they lose the Seahawks, cause top to bottom the Titans are a way better team than the Seahawks, and one of the hottest.

The Chargers have nothing to play for now.

The Titans will not lose to Seattle.

There is no scenario by which if the Titans and Texans finish at 9-7 that the Texans get the WC ahead of the Titans. The Titans own the tiebreaker, period end of story.

It is almost impossible for the Titans to make it, so that makes it an event of biblical prportions for the Texans to make it.

The chargers are playing now for the 2nd seed and a first round bye.
If they win next game, they secure 1st round bye.

Which means the Pats have nothing to play for in week 17 assuming they win next week! :)

They clinched the 2nd seed by beating the bengals. So their last 2 games don't matter since they can't get the no1 seed.

No, they did not clinch the second seed. The Patriots are two back with two to play, and would win the tiebreaker (tied in conference, better against common opponents) if SD loses their last two. Chargers still have plenty to play for.

I was going off that yahoo playoff thing. When I put the pats chargers and bengals at 11-5 it showed sd as no 2 seed, but I guess it isn't that accurate.

The texans chance of getting in is worse than the titans, and the titans need every team in front of them to lose soo.. It ain't happening.

Technically, yes, the Texans chances are worse than the Titans....but the Texans aren't going to be playing one of the hottest, most talented teams in the NFL next week, while the Titans are. If you had to go by strength of schedule, the Titans have a tougher road in front of them than the Texans.

Well yeah, if they're all 11-5 (i.e. Bengals don't lose) the tiebreaker concept could change, with it being a three-way. But we don't know that yet, so as of now, they still need to win Friday to secure the bye.

I'd also disagree that the Titans have better odds than Houston. For starters, beating San Diego is far more difficult than either the Dolphins or Patriots (who will have very little to play for). But in a lot of scenarios that are good for Houston - Baltimore collapsing - that likely shuffles the Steelers into a 9-7 record. The Texans would beat the Steelers in a tiebreaker, Titans would not.

I guess the texans need to root against ravens and broncos.

based on tiebreakers, we have the advantage over the Ravens. We just need Pittsburg to beat them, hopefully. We also own the tiebreaker against Pittsburg. of course, we'll need to win out for any of these scenarios to work. Titans and JAX owns the division record against us. JAX owns the series against us too.

The Ravens would hold the tiebreaker over Houston regardless of the situation. No idea how you are figuring this.

Titans lose Bullock & Thornton for the season. The Chargers are going to eliminate the Titans this Sunday. I can envision Gates torching them after losing 2 starting linebackers.

I never wish injuries upon anyone but Bullock is a B!

That sucks. I really hope this wasn't the last of Keith Bullock in a Titans uni. He was the only person playing with any heart by the end of the 0-6 start.
