there is no race. There is Indy and then a wild card push. Indy sees the Texans as 2 easy wins each year.
But they havent been easy. And they know that. Also, on another note, if the Colts lose Manning, they are screwed...Painter is easily one of the worst backups in the league. He sucked last year when he got in the game...he threw 3 INTs in the preseason opener. The guy is brutal.
If we split the division, we'll make the playoffs. Division goes like this: Colts - They have a rookie named Blair White from Mich. State, that will be better than people realize. Texans - Playoffs this year. Titans - They're good, just not good enough. Jags - They'll be better than people will give them credit for. I think this is the best division in the NFL. A 7-9 record will get you last place.
Too early to tell. Only thing I know for sure is that the Colts are going to win the division, as usual. They pretty much have a lock on it until Manning retires. Sort of like the Atlanta Braves of the 90's with that starting rotation. Just pencil them in as division champs. Texans - Have the talent to win 10 or 11 games this year but will no doubt blow a few that they should win like they do every year. Only question is how many. Jags - I have no idea what team will show up this year. They are a complete unknown every preseason, it seems. They get no national pub EVER so I never know what to expect. titans - Every year I predict their downfall but Fisher and the running game will keep them in almost every game as usual. I think 4-2 in the division and the Wildcard is ours for the taking, but let's see if we can actually grab it or if we somehow manage to continually snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, like we did last season.
Tough schedule, injuries, and suspensions. The owner defending a steroid user (allegedly). This has been a very tough off-season. I think the Texans, Titans, and Jags all have hope for the wild card.
A lot of those wins Indy grabbed last year seemed to be of the miracle comeback variety....and of course as always the Texans found ways to lose. I just find it hard to believe the same result to happen again this year. Sooner or later Manning and Co. will take a fall. They've been atop the division for far too long now.
Only because the Texans always choke against them, one way or another, not because the Colts flat out outplay us.
I think their attempts to run was 32nd as well. Payton loves to sling it. Plus they use a short pass ball control offense Rocket River
Question: If they have so much "talent", how come they don't win more games in the division? Because that's the true indication of "talent" in my book. Bill Parcells was right: you are what your record says you are. These declarations of talent levels on paper are meaningless - the Cowsheep fans have done this every year for 14 years and we all know how well that's turned out for Dallas (snicker). Sorry but I'm not buying into any of this "talent" or "playoff quality team" talk until I actually SEE it happen.
[Big Ifs] If the Texans can avoid fumbleitis at the RB position If Schaub can calm down and play the last 10 minutes the way he plays the first 50. [/Big Ifs] ... then the Texans can and will take this division. This is a damn good team and I really believe this is the year they put it all together.
We are going to dominate teams like we did against the Cardinals (for nearly 3 quarters) more than people realize. I think the running game has no where to go but improved, and the defense is starting to look nastier and more experienced...Cushing hurts, but Bonecrusher will be there from the get go...! 12 wins!
