How does Norv Turner keep getting head coaching jobs?

Because after he gets fired he becomes an offensive coordinator and is really good at it. Teams then think that his past problems were flukes and decide to give him a shot. He will probably get fired after next season and will be a head coach again in three seasons

gutless teams lose. SD not going for the TD on 4th and 3 (after the terrible call on 3rd and 1), and then punting that ball down at their own 36 are just sympomatic of a team playing not to lose instead of to win. that's inexcusable in most instances, against one of the best teams ever it's almost criminal.

you have it at the 36, down 9, with 9 minutes to go, and you punt the ball back to the best offense ever? yeah it was 4th and 10. wahhh, it might've been a little risky, no need to take a chance down 9 to an undefeated team. much better to gain 24 yards of field position (which you promptly gave right back), lose more time off the clock. at best, you force a 3 and out and they punt it back to your 40 or so and you're still screwed. what terrible coaching.

I think they should have gone for it on 4th down.

damn Pats always make the plays when they need to.

If Jacksonville had the right gameplan on defense they would have beaten the pats.

Well, we were! The Bolts had their chances but when you get opportunities for TD's in playoff games you got to get them! Up 21-14 instead of down 14-9 at the half, it's a whole new ball game! But, you have to play ALL 4 quarters to beat the Pats! They keep coming and they're relentless! Finally, Mulroney was able to salt the game away with big runs and the Bolts basically fizzled in the 4th!

The Chargers lack of clutchness on offense cost them the game. You get 3 INTs from Brady and this game was served up on a platter for them. Too bad the Colts gave them the game last week with those 3 fluke TOs because the Pats were ready to be taken down by a team with enough courage to beat them.

francis 4 prez, "gutless" is a very good description.

tough game for my Chargers, but everyone knew coming in you have to beat the Patriots with TDs not FGs. It certainly wasn't the slaughter that most predicted, but the Pats definitely won that game and that was an impressive drive to end the game and destroy the clock. Now Go Pack Go!

Hindight is 20/20, I do agree with you, but as a coach its always good to have confidence in the defense that got you 3 picks.

Thank you Pats for making Rivers crap his pants. Now he's going to scream at some children.

I thought the specifically said that they talked to the Chargers sideline and that it was a coaches decision.

Not always, especially when the Pats had been running the ball successfully earlier in the 2nd half instead of only depending on Brady's arm.

From my standpoint, it would have been better if the Pats had been on top of their game and blown them out. Watching the Chargers squander that opportunity was painful.

You know how much crap Eli and the Giants got last year because of the trade? It would be funny if Eli and the Giants go to the Super Bowl.

I forgot to take that into account, the chargers never figured out how to counter those 3 TE formations. I wanted Norv to go for it, but can't blame him for much. He lost to possibly the best team ever with his top 3 players seriously injured and had his team in a position to win most of the game.

I like the Chargers future. They are a young team who is just going to mature.

Were going to see lots of Pats-Colts-Bolts in next years playoffs

oh and I love Cromartie! hes a beast

only if th Chargers were healthy because it sure seems like they miss LT and Gates when they couldnt score in the red zone

I think missing their two best players, one being their MVP cost them the game. Something tells me the game would have turned out differently had Brady and Moss not played.
