The Colts ****ed their fans out of a perfect season?

    Really?

You're in Week 16 the #1 seed is wrapped up, you've done your job... you rest your starters. Its happened so many seasons prior I don't understand why I'm the one "not getting it".

Ask Bill Belichick if he missed Wes Welker in the playoffs.

Are you guys saying that Colts knew ahead of time that the Jets would beat the Bengals twice and then the Chargers so they lost to the Jets in the second to last game?

    I agree.

As much as I would've liked to see the Texans in the playoffs I'm not going to fault the Colts.

Anyway its not as though the Colts just gave the game to the Jets. Their backups are still professionals and expected to come and give their best. Its not like the Colts just downed the ball every posession. At the sametime the Jets still had to win another game after that.

    Whats the point?

And the Patriots technically didn't have anything to play for. They were hosting a wildcard game either way the next week.

Sure, if the Colts end up losing to the Jets it will be ironic that they ended up losing to the team they chose not to compete against 100%, but it is in no way "karma" if they lose because they chose to do what any NFL team would do and rest their starters for the playoffs.

You honestly think Jim Caldwell, et all were sitting there in the locker room at halftime watching the scoreboard saying "uh oh, we better lose this game so the Jets can win next week and knock Houston out of the playoffs"

You're nuts if you believe the Colts were thinking anything other than "We did our job and locked up the #1 seed, anything else is superficial at this point. Now we need to protect our starters for the playoffs."

Its really not that hard to understand.

Are you being sarcastic? You said that the Colts didn't have much to gain by keeping their starters in and winning the Jets game. I think if you asked their fans and players, they would tell you that a perfect season and a chance at NFL immortality is worth achieving. If you're at 13-0, I think you're selling your fans short not going for it.

No? I'm saying the Colts didn't care and were just concerned about their own health over 16-0 and anything else. The idea that losing to the Jets would be karmic payback as a result doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

    Incredibly superficial goal.

    Something Belicheat goes after.

The Colts organization made it very clear they were interested in protecting their best interests by resting starters over chasing records. Regular season wins mean nothing in the playoffs.

    Ask Belicheat.

I agree with you overall but it seems like an odd statement to say that the Colts prefer to face the Jets now than the Chargers in regard to saying what the Colts did at the end of the regular season.

You think that the Patriots lost the Super Bowl because they didn't rest their starters at the end of the regular season? If I remember correctly, it was a last minute miracle drive by Eli and company that won that Super Bowl.

It wasn't injuries or lack of rest on the Patriots part.

No sh**. Obviously that's a huge achievement. Thank you for pointing out this nugget of information Mr. Football Genius.

The Colts made their decision already. They owe it to themselves to win a Superbowl first and foremost. Everything else is irrelevant. Back to my original point being: The logic that the Colts' karma of losing to the team they 'helped' works for any other team they would have faced.

You take away Wayne and Clark, he'll kill you with Garcon and Collie.

    He's ridiculous.

That drive was Manning looking at the Jets and saying, "Do you know who the **** you're dealing with?"

It's hard to root for the Colts but it seems easier to root against Rex Ryan.

At the very least, the Jets need to get a couple of 1st downs to rest their defense and move the chains. They can't afford a quick three-and-out.
