That's an exaggeration. Both games started that way, especially today with the Ravens lining up in nickel against Brady. But by the second half of both games, they adjusted. The Pats ended up averaging just 3.1 yards per carry... and Arian, while great, had just 29 yards on his last 14 carries.

The Ravens aren't the 2001 version of themselves on defense, but they're still very solid. Two very capable offenses in Houston and New England had just 315 and 330 yards with a combined five turnovers (not counting special teams). They're better than the Patriots are on that side of the ball by a decent margin.

Also read from a Pats beat writer that the Pats players were blasting N**S in Paris in the locker room after that win over T-Sizzle's team.

Dunno if anyone hear is in Beantown or has been to a Pats game but I hear they play only Metal at Gillette during Pats games. No R&B, pop, etc.

So how successful were Denver and Baltimore running the ball on this supposedly putrid NE defense?

Man I didn'tk now Ed Reed didn't have a ring. Didn't realize he was drafted 2 years after that Championship team. Feel sorry for him.

As for blaming Cundiff. Lee Evans deserves more blame than Cundiff.

Baltimore had some success. 31 carries for 116 yards isn't bad, and they were ripping off big chunks in the second half (once Flacco proved he could make plays). I think we both know that Denver was a joke - when you have a QB that struggles to make high school throws, practically anyone can stop the run.

All said, NE with Wilfork is respectable against the run. They were No. 17 in the league during the regular season - right at the midpoint. But the pass D was bad enough that they were still No. 31 overall (despite being OK against the run). They're not in Baltimore's league on D.
