So what happened? As you may have guessed, I'm not watching much TV right now as I am in a 24 hour state of deep depression. :(

Pittsburgh yet again gets the timely defensive play to put them up by 9.

Ryan Clark absolutely kills Willis McGahee with about 3 minutes left, McGahee coughs up the ball, Steelers recover... McGahee doesn't.

Let me be the first person here to dis the Cardinals and say they should be decided underdogs to the Steelers in the Super Bowl.

Whisenhunt will be out for blood.

(Oh, and Polamalu was everywhere in the game, Ed Reed was no where to be seen.)

This is sets up an extremely exciting Superbowl. Almost everybody doubted AZ against Atl. Everybody doubted them against the Panthers. And I don't think too many people believed they'd defeat the Eagles. As for the Steelers it's nice to see them back in the Superbowl instead of the Pats and Colts.

It's going to be boring. Flat out horrible.

The Cardinals may have had one of the easiest roads to the Super Bowl.

The Steelers are a solid team that will crush the Cardinals. They are too balanced.

Disagree. The Cardinals did make it look easy.

Not sure about that Cardinals-Eagles statement. As the week progressed, many people began believing in the Cardinals from what I saw and read. I hope and think Pittsburgh will win. It would give them one more Super Bowl victory than the Cowboys and that's enough for me. :p

The line has been out for about 15-20 minutes already! Pinnacle has had the road team favored by a TD since halftime of the AFC championship game.

I'm going to call BS on your "prediction".

Easy? Hardly. I don't think anybody in their wildest dreams would've thought that the Cards would've handled the Panthers the way they did. If it was the Ravens in the Superbowl that would've been boring. Besides Arizona has finally made it after many years of suffering, hardship and flat out mediocrity. The most recent image of the Cardinals to me is still Deny Green's infamous speech.

Just got home and again narrowly avoided getting arrested (long story). Good game despite the bogus calls (PI x2, Holmes "incompletion"). Yeah, the roughing the punter was garbage but that didn't affect the scoreboard the way the aforementioned three plays did. The Ravens have a knack for sticking around in games like this so I won't lie, I had a bad feeling most of the 2nd half. Luckily, the better team prevailed. It was painfully obvious the Steelers were better and the Ravens offense (or lack thereof) was almost entirely dependent upon help from the officials. I'll give Flacco plenty of credit for doing what he's done as a rookie but he was entirely outclassed in this game.

Should be an interesting game between my boys and the Cards. Just don't expect us to be stupid enough to challenge Fitz to beat us the way the Eagles did!

P.S. LMAO at Polamalu squashing any "Who is the best safety in football?" argument.

P.S.S. Best wishes to Willis McGahee, who managed to get hurt in his 232nd consecutive game.

I'll agree with this. I read multiple sources that stated the Eagles were letting Sean McDermott do the defensive play calling in the first half instead of Johnson. If that is true, I do not see how McDermott is a top candidate for several defensive coordinator positions. I don't see how the Eagles were not jamming him and then covering him with 2 defenders. Johnson resumed defensive play calling in the 2nd half and Fitzgerald was basically shut out but alas it was too late.

I don't expect Pittsburgh to let the same thing happen but who knows, maybe they try not to let it happen but Fitzgerald makes it happen. He just might be that good. We'll see.

    Stay classy guy.

In the first half when santonio holmes had the catch that the ref marked at the one, the ravens challenged and won because he dropped the ball. Tomlin also challenged because he wanted a touchdown.

if only tomlin challenges that play and they not only don't get the touchdown, they lose the catch. anyone ever seen a challenge go against the team in that way.

I've seen several where the team challenging the spot (wanting more yardage) ends up getting put back a few yards... not of the same magnitude, but still the same principle (where challenging a play actually hurts you).

On this play, something tells me that it wouldn't have been ruled a "no-catch" if they were simply going by Tomlin's challenge (as he was looking for a TD). I know that's not how replay is supposed to work, but it was a very close play... in fact, I still think it should have been ruled a catch... and the refs likely spend more time looking where he came down (rather than the actual catch itself).

I'm sure Andy Reid has done that to himself a few times.

But... how is the reach forward with one hand on the ground not considered a 'football move' needed for a completion. Seemed like a bad overturn at the 1, but w/ Holmes, I guess that is normal. ;)

On catches, you have to get up with the ball if you fall or are tackled on the catch, regardless if you have pocession or not and even on the touchdown.
