Advice needed: Getting out of a jam with the GF for a guys weekend.

i recommend you stop being such a f*****. or so said the cab driver from old school.

 

Get in a fight with her a few days before the weekend, and then tell her you need a few days to "cool off". (It would be Machiavellian if it was manipulated to be her fault. But, whatever.)

Don't forget to bring her something back from your trip, a little "I was thinking about you all weekend" gift. (Always bring her back something from any trip) Then kiss and make up.

If you have the funds to already schedule a trip for you two, you should do that. Tell her no one else is bringing their girls and that you want to make it up to her by taking her some place the next free weekend. Make sure you have it planned out already so she doesn't think it's an empty promise (or am I the only one that does that?).

 

This won't work. Most girls love being the only girl in a group of guys. Even if they're attached.

Essentially, if you don't take her, you will be single...There is no way she goes for the "Guys weekend only" excuse...

Tell her, "Yes , please come along, the girls at the Yellow Rose really put on a better show when they are dancing for other girls, I'm sure all my buddies will want to buy you a lapdance".

One real question, these OSU duckets are like gold, who is coming up with the tickets and what are they paying. If the ticket is worth a couple a hundred dollars can you really justify taking someone who isn't fanatical about the game.


When we do our guy's weekend for UIL basketball in Austin, we invite the wives to have their own weekend. We go to the games and to bars between and after but we meet the girls for lunch or dinner or a bar or two during the week. Other than topless bars or late night flirting they don't intrude on anything. They go shopping, to their own bars and even out to their own music venues. Everyone seems to have a good time.

Don't your friends have their own chicks around? If you are serious about this girl your friends wives are going to be her future friends anyway.

 

Tell her the tickets fell through, and you can't go...acting all depressed. Then get all excited about arranging a game watching party at RM95's or something, with friends and girlfriends...big party. Then at the 11th hour (whether Fri night or Sat morning), have one of your friends that she knows call her cellphone looking for you. Have him say that their dad, brother, ex-roommate, old friend, cousin, boss (whoever) has JUST ONE extra ticket but you have to call them RIGHT NOW to get it...so that she needs to call you right away.

This is a win-win...She gets to go to the Houston party with a bunch of friends while feeling happy for you that you got a "last second" ticket.

 

Dude, I'm so going to be in Austin that night.

Ok Take her out Friday night for dinner somewhere nice "Americas", this opens up the option of droping the bomb on her somewhere nice so as to gently aleave any hurt feelings. If this doesn't work, take her bar hopping and get her "Courtney Love" wasted so that her hangover on Sat. will prevent her from wanting to go.

Better yet, leave her ass in bed early in the morning and call from Austin. If she throws a hissy fit lie and tell her she didn't want to go when you asked her in the morning.

 

She was in my wedding. If my wife wasn't working all weekend, I'd put her on the mission.

Just be a man tell her what you posted; that you asked her because you felt obligated, and really need some time with your buddies. She may throw a fit, but I guarantee that she will respect you for it after she gets over it.

Honesty is the best policy in any relationship, romantic or platonic. If she can't hack that you need some time with your boys, then you guys need to re-evaluate your relationship and make some changes, or move on.

 

Just be honest. Don't worry, she'll go out this weekend here in Houston and someone like myself will take good care of her. Have fun in Austin.
