I agree. I read in this book called Millionaire Next Door or something like that that the average trait of someone who becomes an eventual millionaire is most of those folks buy a used car. Unless you are worth millions I don't see what the purpose of buying a new car is.

There are so many good deals on used cars right now especially with the recession. You can even buy a certified used car that comes with full factory warranty.

Oh yeah, missed the bold lettering there. Well if getting owned is buying a 2010 model at nearly dealer cost, with 100,000 miles of warranty then yea I suppose I for owned.

Whoops! Strike that, B-Bob! Unless you want to be an early adapter.

Wow, I had never heard of the SX4 and the new Fiesta. Life is getting complicated.

As for Cooper price, you can get into a Mini these days for around $20k, new. The Mrs. wants one b/c they are so cute, so she's mad about all these new suggestions.

Am checking more and more in used, but you don't really get a deal until a car is 4 years old or so, or until it's got 40-60k miles, from what I can tell.

Not sure if there is a CarMax around where you live, but try there. I bought a 08 crv from there with low mileage for a reasonable price, plus they aren't allowed to call and hassle you to buy their product. I believe someone else on the board posted about CarMax to. Good luck car shopping
