If she's tech savvy but doesn't have any experience, tell her to work from the bottom up and support her along the way.

She will get paid crap and probably get treated like crap, but with the economy as it is, she'll learn a lot if she wants to.

Sticking through it is crucial, and eventually she'll get skills that will land her a better paying job if the company she worked in doesn't pay out.

Well, the Military is probably not going to be an option for her unless I actually kick her out and it finally dawns on her she has no other hopeful options.

See, the Military would make her like get UP early, and WORK hard.

    Bah.

I am actually impressed with most of you guys though, I expected a lot more juvenile responses, so you have all restored a bit of my faith in the general goodness of people who are Rockets Fans ;)

Looks like our aiming point now is the new Willies under construction out on 290@Barker Cypress, since they will be hiring all new staff for that one.

My patience has been worn VON thin by this girl.

Making sex jokes about a man's daughter to his face is pretty low -- too low for most posters, I guess. I wouldn't be surprised to see allusions in other threads though.

Question for ya.....why aren't YOU making her get up early and work hard? She's 19. She's NOT a kid despite what people say. She may be immature, but she is not a kid. Make her start acting her age.

The Military will teach her that. They take lazy people all the time and whip them into shape. I don't have personal experience, but my parents were both in the AF, and said BASIC was the hard part. Once they got into their fields it wasn't as much work. She definitely sounds like she could use the discipline that BASIC will give her. Her career is her choice, but I'd make sure she knows it is a very real option, and just ask her to visit a recruiter's office.
