Boston Terrier. Thats all you need to know. They are the most loyal dog you will ever find. My boston literally thinks hes a human, when other dogs come around, he looks at them like there idiots and doesnt care for them. He loves to catch his frisbee and play fetch. Only drawback and its a BIG drawback is his gas. Goodness gracious he could knock out an army with the fumes coming from his butt. BTW, hes a mini boston terrier, about 12 pounds.

Mixed breed dogs don't usually have the genetic health problems a lot of other dogs do. Getting a rescue dog is great. They are usually potty trained and will already be spayed or neutered.

I agree a dachshund would probably be a good dog for what you are saying especially if you get a full sized as opposed to a miniature. The full sized ones are pretty hard to find these days.

Whatever breed you decide please get a rescue dog. It will be awesome to give an animal that might otherwise die but only wants to belong somewhere a home.

I have two rescues and they are both amazing.

    Agree 99%!

I've been searching for years for a full-blood male mastiff puppy from shelters, and they're impossible to find. I have two rescue dogs myself, but I may break down and get a registered mastiff because I can't find one in a shelter.

I know folks via other web forums who rescue mastiffs. They seem to mostly end up with Neos but they get other types too. I will let you know if I hear anything if you're interested.

I would have said this, since I have one, but he doesn't like high pitched barks.
    Perhaps a beagle?

Saw some Yorkies mentioned, and I can say they're great dogs and extremely playful, but unless you socialize them with other dogs early they can be pretty unsociable with other dogs (always great with people) later.

    Anyways here's our Yorkies:

Gave our first one to our grandparents because they needed a dog bad after both of them retired. They decided to cut it like a snouser for some reason and I hate it! :p He's 14 years old and still going strong.

    My parents other two dogs:

I have no idea what the white one is, it's a rescued dog and I believe its a mix of something.

    Yorkies are awesome!

    Repped.

On page 1, there is a picture of a dog that needs a good home. I can't keep her. Absolutely free.

How old is that yorkie in the second picture? I'm surprised it's still black (if it's not a puppy). Mine is turning more gray/silver.

My mom has two Yorkies and they work for her but I'm not sure FB wants a dog that can fall victim to owls and hawks (my mom had this problem with her dogs).

Yes, she had an owl try to snatch her male Yorkie. She was about 10 feet away and the owl didn't get him but he certainly tried and would have succeeded if the dog had been unsupervised. She has also had problems with a hawk that used to come by and watch the dogs but by then she only let them out on a short leash. The problem no longer occurred once she moved to a less wooded area but it was a major issue for about a year.

My dog doesn't really live in a woodsy area. It's sorta woodsy, but i don't think any predator birds live in the area.

How big is the dog? Mine is about 5 and half pounds.
