I found out I had 15,000+ Delta miles that were about to expire (12/31/2008). I hadn't flow Delta in years, but when they announced the NWA deal and they were going to combine miles, I decided to check on it. I was able to transfer 1000 of my AMEX points into my Delta FF account and that extended the forfeiture date to 12/31/2010.
