There were rumors at the time that Twitter participation was tied to partaking in an eventual SpaceX offering.

His buddies will be made whole at some point.

I don't think they ever ended up investing. And as for rumors of some side deal - none of it was official because it would have come out in the Twitter litigation.

But, the funny part, again, is how obviously the self-proclaimed best & brightest vet their multibillion $ nvestments with the same diligence as some drunk guy signing up for a DraftKings account and how much they buy into the hype. It's not just coincidence that Larry Ellison got duped by Theranos and Trump and pisses away millions in useless GOP campaign donations.

The FTX implosion revealed similar business-as-usual practices where a finance bro there asked a finance bro somewhere else to lend him a couple of million on chat.

As for officialness, Elon keeps all the receipts and ledgers. They're both technically his companies, for now. Why would they need to spell it out on paper? Saudi, Asian investors and other ME sovereign funds don't work like that anyways.

Because it would have been disclosed in the text messages from the trial - but, it's not there even though all kinds of embarrassing, dumb stuff was in there.

There's no need to believe "rumors" about Elon's potential twitter investors when it was all pretty much disclosed at trial. Those guys would LOVE for you to believe that they were actually playing 11 dimensional chess and by dumbly forking over billions to Musk they had some double secret under-the table agreement to recoup their losses.

They didn't. There's no evidence they did. They're just a bunch of dopes with too much money and doign the same thing that - due to luck- worked out for them in the past a few times. The system is rigged so that the Mark Andressens of the world can enagage in thinly-disguised, ill-fated cash grabs like Web3 for years, have it fail miserably, and have him move on to the next thing without anybody really mentioning it (and evemtually he can claim to be heroic about the whole thing).

    That's the way plutocracy works.
