Elon and his investors paid peak market valuation for Twitter…. They expect to make their money back plus more.

I’m not really sure the future of Twitter but I expect it to be around in some form for the foreseeable future.

The best part of it is HOW he cut stuff. The first staff was seemingly pretty arbitrary, given that Musk had to try to hire some of the back. Then after the first batch, it's all been voluntary. That means all the people who have confidence they can find other jobs and don't need to put up with the BS are the ones that leave. What you're left with are Musk fan-boys and people who didn't have much confidence they could find new employment. VSPs are the worst way to cull staff - you just end up losing your best employees.

^The only thing that's certain to happen is every time Elon Musk is even remotely questioned on the internet, his army of unpaid dopes will sniff out a possible loyalty test and exhibit fealty with posts like this.

3 hour response time? That's violating SLA. See @tinman for a code review bro

Interesting take considering a few here were commenting Musk was low balling his offer.

I have also learned there are those here who seemed to have run multi-billion dollar company with thousands of employees as a C Suite executive.

That 'lowballing' offer was before the tech market lost 1/3 of its value. It was why Musk wanted to get out of the deal and Twitter refused to abide.

I mean Elon did try to low ball and back out of the deal after initially making the offer. However it would seem Elon bought Twitter at the peak of the tech cycle.

I think it’s obvious that Twitter won’t crash and burn the next several months but the viability of Twitter into 2024 is another issue.

Tech in general is pivoting now that money isn’t essentially free and you don’t need to be a CEO to see that.

The functionality of Twitter was pretty crap so any shake up or improvement in that area can only be a good thing for traffic.

I like and use Twitter for what it is. I don't think it's worth 46 billion.

20 billion is already a generous valuation for earnings and growth...

Can't pump earnings, better pump growth and hope for another 0 rate Fed to cash out.

Did she run Tesla or Twitter or SpaceX?

I mean, she's a journalist, I've spoken at one of her conferences...so what.

    LOL.

So how do you operate when you are down 5000 people?

This make no sense whatsoever, do you think most of these employees were just sitting around cashing checks.

It's hard to improve when your best employees are leaving.

I don't know who Kara Swisher is, also I'm a guest on her podcasts explaining why i moved to South Beach from Berlin to get away from gay culture thanks to Governor Pushaw and i also i hate immigrating Asian hordes like Diktator Orban and Vlad Putin.. who i do not support.

This story absolutely checks out - trust me i tried to find an inconsistency but there's nothing there.

She is the mother of 4 dragons and a journalist.

I retweet to CFBBS so that makes me a journalist too.
