yep..quite a bit. my church has financed wells in india...and actually went to facilitate building one we financed in guatemala this last summer. amazing amazing experience to see people who have lived their entire lives without clean water.....and see their reaction when it's built in their own village. there's a church here in town called ecclesia that has these huge pictures up over where the pastor speaks of kids playing in clean water for the first time....absolutely beautiful.
That's awesome. We need to talk one of these days....A couple of my relatives up here have gotten me involved with mission trips to Mexico focusing on clean water, septic systems, etc...
Man that cat is incredible! Lashing out at everyone, liberals, Christians, you name it! Just so full of hate and anger.
My dad and his church is hooked on this, but not me. The real reason churches are advocating this hard is they also encourage you donate to the CHURCH. Church = Castle for Hypocrites. Not trying to call all churches and their members hypocrites, but most are.
How many have you investigated to determine that "most are" out of curiosity? Have you any statistical evidence to support your claim? Heck, even any anecdotal evidence to support the idea that most churches are hypocritical? Or is this simply the typical "I don't like churches or religion" generalization?
Just basing it on the grand buildings they have constructed, the high salaries and benefits given to the preachers that I have info for(around 20), having all but one preacher client lie in preparing their taxes. The way the Jewish holidays or views are ignored despite the fact that they worship a man that was a sinless Jew.
You know guys and gals, there exists this amazing wonder of modern computing software technology known as an "ignore list"...
Like an interesting thread about being a Christian in the mode that Christ advocated? Yeah, people who can't leave something like that alone are by definition annoying.
Not saying it is. I just believe it to be the reason why the churches are pushing it this year. I don't like seeing churches use it to garner donations.
I have my beliefs, but am not religious. I believe in God, and I believe Jesus to be the greatest man to walk this Earth. I do not consider myself to be Christian, because I don't accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior. If Heaven and Hell do exist, and God denies good people the Gates of Heaven because they did not believe in Jesus, then I would reject him.
