unless Collison and Thornton can keep them afloat for 2 months while he's out, i think it's only a matter of time before NO goes into fire sale mode.

    maybe it's just wishful thinking.

Could be the best for the Hornets long term. Tank this season and hope for a good pick in the draft.

I can't believe people are cheering about this. Any time a player of Paul's caliber is injured, the NBA is a worse product. I'm also starting to worry that he is just injury prone in general and his career may be cut short. It's sad. If he remains healthy, he has the potential to put up a case for GOAT at his position.

Of course you never want great players who appear to be good ppl to go down like this. Certainly the Rockets would know this but on the flip side the Hornets weren't going to be true contenders with the current make up of their team. With the current cost cutting of the Hornets, they wouldn't have been big players in the free agency or trade market outside of slashing salary. So the only avenue would have been the draft to improve.

This could be sometime like David Robinson going down and allowing the Spurs the #1 pick the next year.

Poor Hornets. I wonder if they should've kept Byron Scott, I think he would've made it through this.
