LA wants a PG and a serviceable PF. They will not trade Gasol for Scola, Beasley and Webster. Unless you forgot to include a PG that is going to the Lakers, that is ridiculous.
I assume the Rubio injury puts a huge damper on the Wolves coming in as the third team in the potential Gasol deal. I was assuming that they would be willing to part with either JJ Barea or Ridinour and Beasley to help facilitate the deal. Now the Wolves have just Ridinour on the roster healthy going into a stretch of the season where they are now in the playoff hunt for the first time in 7 years. Nobody knows what the Lakers brass has in mind for their wishlist for a PG, but I would assume that Lowry & Rondo are at the top, but the Rockets have made Lowry close to untoucheable in a Gasol deal FOR NOW. Hopefully they change their mind on Dragic with a nice 3 game run here with Lowry injured, and they are sold on him coming over in a deal. Still, I think the Lakers hold off on a deal unless they are getting a bigger name back with Scola like Rondo, Lowry, etc. The Rubio injury might be more of a game changer than we think, and stall Gasol coming to Rockets once again.
why not Martin/Scola/Dragic for Gasol? at his age Kobe might be more suited to guarding 3's anyway Dragic Martin Kobe Scola Bynum
Part of this deal was meant to secretly shed salary. Martin adds too much duplication in their lineup, and adds too much salary to make it worthwhile. Martin/Scola/Dragic might be what the Rockets end up giving up(hopefully thats all), but it will require a 3rd team to get them the PG they can sell to their fans as worth giving up the man who was the best big man on their team when they won multiple championships, and is still the most skilled big man in the game. Martin will not be a Laker in March, I guarantee it.
You seriously think Lowry is that much better than Martin? Martin was one of the most efficient scorers in NBA history for the most of his career, while Lowry was only becoming decent this season. I think trading Lowry, from the Rocket's point of view, is no big loss at all. We have Dragic, who is potentially a very solid starter in this league. Martin + Gasol = Wreaking Havoc for WC
Because we were going to do that deal in order to get Gasol AND Nene AND keep Chucky Hayes. Of course, having said that, it might be worth it from our point of view with an eye towards cap space in the summer. However Martin holds very little appeal to the Lakers, and Kobe would get 'muscled' trying to guard SFs. Too much wearing him down on the block and further reducing his offensive impact. [will not comment on Martin guarding anything, let alone SFs]
Someone on ESPN said its a done deal for Lowry and Scola. I dont believe it. Said something about a physical that cant be true if Lowry is playing tonight.
Lowry isnt playing tonight. He's in the hospital in New York. No way a deal gets done involving Lowry for a few days at least.
Thats what he said. He said inside scoop is waiting for Lowry to leave hospital before it goes through.
I dont see anything yet on twitter, Espn, or the internet in general. Sounds like an analyst was purely speculating about Lowry being in the Hospital. Sounds like a .... "maybe when Lowry is cleared for the hospital, then a deal could be finalyzed." However, alot can happen in two days. No way the Lakers trade for Lowry when he's in the hospital. Its easy for an analyst to say that THAT is what is holding up a deal because there is no way for him to be considered wrong.
Thats a really strong allegation for no apparent reason. Next time keep it to yourself if you cant stay respectful. I said I didnt believe it. So stay classy next time with your retort or hurt feelings about my posts on what someone else said that I didnt agree with.
