I agree to some of your points he has been a good player for Rockets as he used to be the only one who was scoring rest all were just the supporting cast and it was a different team which won 22 straight games. I did enjoy watching him play but not anymore. Yes he did took it on himself during the utah series but after the loss he said it was not on him. I appreciate that he played through some of those injuries but he should have worked his ass off after the loss and have come back stronger rather than wasting another year and like every other yr trying to get into game shape during first 2 months of the season. He was never a superstar. I hate Kobe but I admire his work ethic every year he gets better can you say that abt TMac. Why cant TMac wait for couple of weeks work his ass off during practices and come back why he should be given special treatment. I think hes doing more harm to his reputaion. But again if he comes back and plays hard for the team he will gain my respect.
The team will need both to be successful as possible this season, but it doesn't look like that will happen.
Look at it from his point of view. If you love something, in his case basketball, you cant just sit around without playing. Im sure the guy is just ready to make a point that he's ready to play. I see he's just frustrated cause he knows people are down on him and maybe, just maybe, this is finally a chance the guy can do some good. I agree hes put the city in a bad mood, but like i said.... if hes still a rocket, than im rooting for him.
Me too, but I am rooting for the team, and they have decided to not play him so I will cheer for the players on the floor and think of the ones not playing as tradeable assets to make the team better. DD
my vote has finally been swayed to give up on Mac ever returning in a way that could help the team. even if he were healthy, his ego and attitude aren't helping. I'm willing to concede that the TMac era is over. I think the team will continue to improve without him, and will be better overall.... so much money available this offseason! you can't really trade him now, can you?
I agree. But looking at this team we notice we need a scorer. Think about this.... when Tmac plays, im guessing about half the time he is doubled on the ball, opening up another player to get the ball to. This would be a benefit to someone like Ariza who can spot up a jumper, Brooks who could do the same, or others as well. Point im making is that while i disagree with his actions off the court, his plays on the court is what the team MAY be missing.
I have......but this is not the thread, feel free to start it if you like.....that is a conversation that needs to be had, especially next year. DD
Im not speaking for DD, but i think this deals with CHARACTER. Fans are not upset with Yao because yao puts effort on and off the court but just is injury prone. While Tmac has a bad character that leaves a sour taste in the eyes of the fans.
That just about sums it up. If he's healthy enough to do what hes capable of doing off the dribble, he will get us another big threat in the half court. If he is just a spot up shooter like he was for most of last season , it's time to move on. We already have enough spot up shooters who make bigger contributions on the defensive end.
I'll tell you whats going to determind the outcome of this situation: Come Monday when they do the MRI..... if Tmac pass the MRI and is healthy, and the rockets still dont play tmac at all..... Thats a sign the rockets are moving on..... bottom line.
In spite of Yao's injury issues there is one thing that he and can do like no other. Make it Rain like Srudge Mc Duck. Why do you think Les can spend all that extra money on draft picks.
Every season is important. Its the franchise goal and expectation to put a winner out there every year and if Tracy can help us win this year, he should be on the floor.
Nope, the goal is a championship. If the team is realistically not a contender, their job is to get to contender's stataus by whatever means necessary. That is all that matters, and sometimes a year of development is necessary, that, IMO, is what is going on. They are paying Tmac's contract, that is all they are obligated to do, even if he is healthy they are not obligated to play him. And if Rick Adelman - our coach is not satisfied he is ready, then he isn't... Rick sets the standard of readiness, not Tracy...... DD
