Of course there is.... And just look at the thread rating plummeting, people just don't want to discuss controversial subjects....lol. DD
You know what 's sad is that if you have both of these guys working together and giving it all they got in their fields, imagine how much better this team would be. I seriously would put the rockets at 45games this year. I strongly see Tmac gett 22ppg this season, i think RA would also have a coach of the year chance.. RA at his best with Tmac determind and a young and hungry rockets team.....45wins....
I am one of those that doesn't put any weight in the rumors/reports that aren't confirmed by many sources (the whole shouting match story right now as an example). I don't make any assumptions about Tracy making the team mad, or the team getting back at him BS. Leaving that all out of the equation, simply b/c I haven't seen Tracy play this season, I have to go Rick. I wanted to see how he plays. If I don't get to see it, what choice is there? I don't exactly think our current play style is conducive to winning long term, but I hope I'm wrong.
I voted for trying to win now. If he is clearly disrupting team chemistry, then RA can bench him or DM can trade him. If he fits in nicely and makes the other players better and more efficient (cough) Ariza (cough) then it's a win-win.
Fair enough. Winning as many games as possible and letting him walk would not be good for the overall team building to a championship goal, IMO. I think TMac would help the team win more this year, but their lack of height and size on the block will eventually cause them to fall short, so to me, it is better that they use this year to develop guys like Ariza, Budinger, Lowry and Brooks, and build for next year when/if Yao gets back. I don't see any value at all from the Rockets perspective in playing Tracy other than possibly (if everything goes well) a few more wins. Just my .02 I tried to be as non confrontational as possible when typing the post, but I think my history with regards to how I feel about TMac probably makes people a bit more sensitive and looking for bias..... I can't do anything about that, but try to be unbiased....sorry. DD
It's funny how people cross T-Mac out, but leave an injury prone 310 pounder, who can't play a full season, in their prospects for winning a championship. Fools gold.
You might not be bashing Tracy directly but you sure are padding your stat line. I can see you putting a big fat check mark under Cons for your pros/cons of T-Mac chart because of this pole. To me what makes this pole silly is the timing because the outcome was already known. As great a job coach has been doing lately did you really expect to get a "Tracy" pick?
So DD, what do you think? Oprah or Tracy? Rick can coach either one. Oprah buys the team from Les for twice what it's worth. If Tracy is healthy, he brings a heck of a lot on the court, but Oprah has more money than Saudi Arabia and promises to lose weight, get in shape, and get in the rotation!! An owner/player! She could give the finger to the Luxury Tax and buy as much talent as we desire. With Morey spending her money, the sky is the limit! Multiple titles! A new dynasty! Heck, she clones the Dream!!! (with permission from The Greatest Ever, of course... if he doesn't agree, clone Clyde! Double win! He's finally leaves the broadcast!!!) The lady is retiring in September, 2011. She'll need something to do. She needs a change of scenery. Just imagine the drama! Tracy jumping up and down on her sofa, waving his arms, telling the world "I'm BAACK!!," injurying himself in the process. (karma's a b!tch, ain't it?) Who cares? Oprah, with tears in her eyes, will suggest a book for Mack to read while "getting better" for 6 months, one nobody has heard of, and it's an instant best seller in China! So whatcha think? Coach A has a rep for dealing with crazy situations. IT COULD HAPPEN, I tell ya!
I don't expect anything RR, I expect fans to be fans and discuss the issues as they come up. I enjoy the conversation, and discussion..... I just like to drive discussions, and don't shy away from ones because they are controversial...... DD
Choosing Rick Adelman's team-oriented approach is obviously the way to go if you have to choose. Of course, ideally, I'd prefer McGrady integrated into the team-oriented approach instead of running the show -- that would be the ideal. Of course, that wish seems idealistic.
Soooo the other 5-6 threads in regards to the mythical McGrady/Adelman exchange isn't enough? Things like this, IMO, is a reactionary action that you do to get fans more riled up and to agree with you, DD.
I am of the mindset that if there truly is this drama going on, then the Tmac ship has sailed. I would rather watch our group of hardworking less talented guys working together to win, than cater to someone who is stirring the pot just days before he could have put all this crap to rest.
That would be the ideal scenario if Tmac would do it, stay healthy, and sign another deal in Houston. However, that is a lot to count on... The team needs to go with what they can control IMO. That is better asset management (Lol...just for you Schmal). It is a poll, a chance to vote, to go on record.....this is a fan site, we do these things..... DD
I gotcha DD, I do. But may I finish your last line? I just like to drive discussions, and don't shy away from ones because they are controversial or overly redundant.
