This isn't about building for the future or anything of that sort.

It's about the reputation of Twacy McGwady, he wants to get out and prove his worth to all of the haters and his loyal fans out there. And that's certainly something that he should be pursuing. (Especially in a contract year.)

Adelman is just taking the smooth and safe approach, make sure everything is all right and then let him loose on the court. T-mac thinks he doesn't need to wait, and that he can prove himself right now.

Personally, I gotta go with Adelman, but you have to respect Tracy's drive to succeed

Any Houston basketball teams that spill their guts on the floor like these guys do, night in and night out, earn my excitement. It is quite refreshing to not have any dramaqueens this year too. I am sooo excited for the next game...

    Tyreke Evans round 2...

Transition means exactly what to us? That is just an acceptable short term answer, sounding more like an entry point for the "moral victory" declaration. Moral victories are only acceptable in pee-wee league, the YMCA and/or when you mom, dad, and/or aunt Claire say it to you after you've had your butt kicked. This is a professional league/game and I want us to win every season. Otherwise, what is the freakin point of claiming to be "Red Nation" or whatever it is? Call us "Nation In Transition" or "We'll Get'em Next Year Nation" instead!!! I don't cheer for this team and get all caught up in the game and players for at least 82 games for the purposes of transition. I want them to win every year and every game. But to watch us potentially beat ourselves for reasons unknown to me pisses me off. Then to listen to our broadcasting team pacify us with this we play hard, have high basketball IQs, you should be proud of your Rockets and so on as if that makes it ok. But wait this is just a transition year!

I can't wait for Monday so this crap can hopefully end!!!

I want to see them play the game like it was meant to be played...

Winning is great, but secondary imo.

I was just as happy last year taking the Lakers to 7 and stunning the critics and the media as I was in the championship years.

I think Tracy is the only guy who thinks that this question is even a question. There is no question that RA is how you go. Look at the value of all the players on this team NOW as opposed to the end of last year.

    RA did that!

Clearly you have forgotten the feeling of being on top. There is nothing else that compares to it.

You've got to temper your expectations and consider the Rockets have $40 million tied up inactive/injured players. Every night the team takes the floor with fewer weapons than most opposing teams. Everyone was aware that the team was going to start out with both their stars on the bench. That's not a recipe for a championship season.

...Man, and the Chinese are wondering about our culture of instant gratification. This is the perfect example.
You're aren't going to win jack with 40 million sitting on the bench doing nothing, and most teams without their two best players wouldn't even think about playoffs, unlike us. Patience is a virtue, dude, and with T-Mac and Yao doing nothing we have to be patient.
And really, aside from T-Mac, who can hopefully come back, this team is definitely superior to the 22 game team, so it's not a big deal.

dont underestimate a tmac with a chip on his shoulder. Im tired of having flat third quarters. We should have won against atlanta. TMac is in a contract year so this is the best time to own him. We all know that if his head is in the injury revovery process, he seems to overcome it (i.e. his back).

This poll is basically saying I can't go to college and have a job at the same time.

Interesting notes in the Chronicle about this subject

There is no magical date (for McGrady's return),” Adelman said. “It wasn't the 18th of November. It wasn't the 23rd. It's a process.

“You don't just take somebody who has been out a whole year and suddenly just throw them out on the court. It's not about Tracy at this point; it's about our team, what's best for our team. He's part of that.

“It's not different from before he put his uniform on. Things haven't changed. If it's changed that much, I'll put a uniform on if it can change everything. I wouldn't look very good in it.”

Adelman said nothing has changed because of the team's evaluation of McGrady's readiness to play.

“He's not ready to play yet,” Adelman said. “We've set that (schedule) all along. We said he wasn't going to play. He chose to say something else. That has nothing to do with me.

“My stance hasn't changed at all. It's not going to change. Certainly when he's healthy and ready to play he's a heck of a player.

“But we don't think he is (ready) right now, and we're following a timetable.”

    ------------------------------------------------

Doesn't that sound like a good old fashioned power struggle?

This is very possibly your worst thread ever, DD... Ridiculous how you try to sneak in these TMac bashes in what you think are these subtle posts.

I am not subtle at all SMB !

I think what I think, but am giving others a chance to discuss what they think......of this situation.

Don't shoot the messenger because you don't like the message......while I may not agree with you about the situation...70+ % of people on here do agree.

I would say we have a silent majority, wouldn't you?

I found out this weekend that t=mac is having his house refreshed with new fixtures and so forth a lot of his furniture has been moved into the gym.

I would like to see t-mac come back and play Ricks style of B Ball with enthusiasm.

Are we not going to have to play some half court ball if we make it into the playoffs? Seems like run & gun teams do not do as well as you would like them to do (suns). T-mac does do good in 1/2 court
and we have a he!! of a supporting cast this year.

    Vote for Rick.

I'm so over the TMAC drama. I was a fan at one point, but he has flaked out so many times that I don't trust anything he says anymore. Adelman has the team playing a great style of basketball which is fun to watch, and they are winning. I just can't help but wonder how good we would be if we had two stars who weren't ALWAYS injured. Build the team around Adelman. He has proven to be consistent.

    not that clever.

the poll is wack anyways. it's not really about Adelman versus Tmac. Morey is the one running the show. he's the one collecting the pieces, including Adelman
