If we are not .. I will be PISSED!

The regular season will take care of itself
    I am not worried

As for Francis. . . as I stated. . .time to take on the role of HORRY
be Mr. April, May and June this year

I am not concerned about SF . .he will come up the depth chart

At this point, I'm not saying the Rockets should start Francis right away. So if he could not make the 8-man or 9-man rotation just for now, it's still OK, as long as he is on the active list. But if he still could not make the rotation at the end of the regular season, we would be in trouble. The rockets need to find a way to get him involved, if they want to go deep in the playoffs.

by the all-star break, i expect him to either replace alston (most likely) or head in the lineup IF he continues to learn the offense and does not pout/whine/demand to be traded

Francis said he has not spoken with Adelman about his role and has no plans to.

"I'm still not sure," Francis said. "There is pretty much nothing I can do about it.
It's definitely up to the coaching staff. Whatever it may be, everybody has to sacrifice things.

"I wouldn't say I'm disappointed. It's a long season. Hopefully, get some progress at some point.
I'm just going to continue to be myself, play the way I always played. That's all I can give.
If that's not enough, I don't know what is. I'm going to continue to be myself and play the way I always played."

Gee! Do ya' think this attitude may have something to do with him not playing?

that's a pretty good attitude if you look at me. as long as he tries hard in practice, he'll get points w/ adelman.

he just came in out of shape as compared to alston and james. that really hurt him more than anything in terms of the learning curve.

Because when I think of Steve Francis, I think of all his playoff success. ;)

I can see Steve eventually coming off the bench to make something happen (like getting to the foul line) when we get in one of our patented offensive slumps, but I just don't see him running this offense full time. If he is, we're in trouble.

I told all you francis lovers he was a washed up scrub now. Maybe now, you'll step into 2007 instead of living in the past.

There's also the possibility that they're giving Rafer more exposure to raise his trade value.

In the meantime Francis can learn the system and get in shape.

    Just a thought.

On the other hand, I've been kind of hoping he wouldn't be part of the rotation because he hasn't shown me anything so far. Hopefully he gets it turned around, because I'm really rooting for him to make a comeback.

Well it just shows that Adelman has a 'kinder, gentler' dog house than Grumpy :D

Yeah all the guys posting because they're happy to see SF fail I don't get it? He is a Rocket and he came here to help the team and you want to see him fail? It's like we have a bunch of baby JVGs running around on this forum that only post negative crap!

It is pretty sad to see/read... but I'm pretty sure we all expected it. He just hasn't been that same Stevie...

I can definitely see him giving us good minutes later on in the year though. He's still clearly got game, and his athleticism is still there -- he just needs to get into better shape and figure out how to mesh with the rest of the rotation.

He is a cancer and a detriment to the rockets.

That doesnt make much sense. The only way his trade value would increase is if he is playing well, and if he is playing well why would you want to trade him and what would you be hoping to get in return?

same thing happened with derek anderson and bonzi wells last year. this was more of a case with JVG. I think that this team was just way too stacked to gaurantee PT to anyone, even SF3.

derek anderson was washed up and swift is all potential, there should be no sympathy for players who get paid millions to do nothing much but sit on the bench. there are no promises, play well, and you will get playing time, if not sit. francis can feel like he's in a bad situation, i doubt it though, he's getting paid a ton this year.

    Steve Francis is a phenomenom.

He came to Houston and instantly had amazing hype.

He has never lived up to it.

The guy has a loyal fan base that rivals just about any player in the NBA. He can still get shoe contracts inspite of a history of being only mediocre in his best days. He had the ball and took the shots and still couldnot break 20 points a game.

This crazy popularity gets him to the All-Star game TWICE! Just shows that the AS game is a pure popularity contest.

OK, the guy is popular and some folks want to wear his jersey. How many times does he have to be rejected by teams, (Houston twice now) to get it?.

He came out with and was often pitted against Barron Davis. Davis, even injured is a better player than Francis over the last few years.

Say what you want but the proof to me will be where he is at the trade deadline. IF he is in the line up based on his own effort and not injury AND we are winning then he will have proved he gets it. Adelman won't let him run the team his own way so if he is in the rotation then it will be as a team player.

Bah, Stevie don't worry. Within a week, Bonzi will be tired of playing every day, make up some injury, and you'll be right back on the court.

Rafer didn't choke in last playoff series. He played at his level, even a little better than regular season. It's Head the choker and Yao who's not healthy.
