LMFAO.... ooooh, no, you're being too generous! note: if this was meant to be a sarcastic post (I sure hope so), please inform me and I will apologize right away.. if not, i recommend you visiting this drugfree website..
Budlight solutes, Mr. Lets trade our 10th 11th guy off the bench for the four time all-star! Okay, lets get serious, lets trade rafer+shane+head+novak+2number one draft pick for Kobe+whatever they want to get rid off. Lets do it!
I think that this move is r****ded. Francis might not be in peak shape right now, and he might not be the same, but I mean he's only 30 years old. In 05 he dropped 21 and 7 a night. He might not be there right now, but the guy hasn't lost his skill. Why the heck would you leave a guy like that out've your rotation? He should be getting minutes every game. He needs to consistently be playing, so that he can get in a rhythm. I'm not saying that the 20 and 7 Francis could come back, but he definitely could be good enough to have a major impact on the team.
No, I don't think he was messing with him at all... Steve is very clever and probably has it figured out for himself. You might be able to fool a rookie, but Rick's brand of sports psychology might not work on a veteran like Steve Francis. My guess is that Steve is playing along just to make it look good. Steve is a 5 time all-star for crying out loud. Rafer Alston has NEVER won anything since he stopped playing for the Harlem Globetrotters. Think about it... I'm not a psychic, although I have bent a spoon with my mind once before, but it all seems just a LITTLE fishy to me. I'm sure I'm not the only one thinking it...
It isn't about whether he can drop 20 and 7. Francis doesn't fit in when a basketball team has other options and I believe Francis has trouble running an offense and understanding plays. I don't believe the guy is committed to team basketball and coaching philosophies. Adelman must have seen the same thing.
well they've gotta try and get the guy to fit in. he never got time in new york. keeping him on the bench won't help. does anyone think that luther head is gonna be any better for the rockets?
By what -- eating Bonzi's share of the Krispy Kremes? I think the only debate was Rafer-Mike James... for now, Steve played his way out of the starting question mark. It looks like Adelman likes James as the spark plug and Rafer turned it over just once in the entire preseason. I definitely don't think there is any showcasing going on ... it may be a side benefit though if Steve gets in shape and comes around. But like I've always said -- if you want to showcase Rafer for a trade, I don't think playing him is the best way to go I don't think the Rockets would want to get involved in a Kobe deal unless they start out slow... months in. But by then, Kobe will likely be gone. I'm sure Morey needed to come out and discuss the rumor because it involves their star player and they needed him fully focused, but if T-Mac's back goes out again, it's going to look bad that the Rockets came out to say they weren't even exploring it. I'm not saying they should, but it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation when you consider drawing a line like that.
<br> francis was a 3 time all-star......and i really liked your kobe trade earlier......hahahahahahaha
Thanks for the support, Clutch. As for the rest of you, I hope this shows that there was some SERIOUS validity to my thoughts. I may not have any real experience as a high level executive in the NBA, but I have street smarts that would rival most inner-city gang members. I know a thing or two about a thing or two, and I can tell you right now that the wheels are probably turning. Are we going to make a trade immediately before the game so that Kobe will be able to suit up with us TONIGHT? Maybe. But I seriously doubt it... But strangers things have happened! Do you remember that play where Trinity lobbed 15 laterals and won the game at the buzzer last weekend? I rest my case. Word.
Steve clearly didn't have the opportunities Alston or James had in pre-season but of the minutes he played he didn't do anything extraordinary to force his way in. IMO Adelman saying Francis not being in shape is just an ego-stroke. It's a very generic explanation. If he gave his real reason a player can take these things personally. Though I still think Rafer won on out due to circumstance rather than performance. Rafer does looks more at ease due to the ready made chemistry advantage he holds for now... but I think Adelman has chosen him simply for record of low turnovers. Turnovers were the first concern and it still is an issue even though the problem hasn't been coming from any of the points. Rockets are bleeding turnovers from other positions and he might see Rafer as a safe choice to counter it.
Ha! Did you read his message? Too funny. I may not be Steven Spielberg, but I once shot a video with the kids on my street. That qualifies me to be an A-list movie director, right?
i guess street smarts don't include knowing that there isn't a buzzer in football, and that there is no possibility of any trade going down which will allow kobe to suit up for tonight's game. it is literally impossible.
I think being one of the worst on the ball defenders in the NBA is a slight problem with his game. Also, bad decisions with the ball don't help.
