Sometimes you have to give the fans what they want. The Arco fans were shouting for C-Webb a while back after the game was pretty much over due to a large lead - this was when CWebb was with Philly. But in this case, I think it should be Yao stat-padding. AND I approve : ) Yi...he has skills...but he really, really...i don't know the word.
I think this is more or less keeping our tempo and flow of the game. When Yao was out and Hayes was in for the 3rd quarter, Nets got a little run and that quarter we were tie with nets for 25 pts a piece. (that's when Yao started to get back in) That's why we needed a better taller backup Center for Yao. Hopefully Dorsey with his one basket monster dunk would get him some PT in the coming weeks.
Speaking of Adelman, after he is done coaching the Rockets, he should be given the job of Player Personnel and Scouting. I have been impressed with his ability to spot talent.
Don't you know Yao plays better in a back to back when he is tired? (There is statistical evidence.) Adelman is preparing Yao for the Cleveland game.
IMO, one of his worst decisions was keeping Chuck Hayes in the starting line up so long last year, and not starting Scola. IMO his second worst decision is keeping Steve stuck in the locker room and letting Luther Head run the point.
He kept him in to make sure the game was won. Common sense is your friend. Don't be afraid to use it.
no those were smart decisions in waiting to play scola and landry, they were rookies and needed time to learn the nuances of the game and more importantly learn about their teammates. that starting 5 won 52 games the season before so it made sense to start that 5. and sure enough when scola and landry did start getting their minutes after they started getting comfortable they started to produce. same with brooks his learning curve was much longer (sat most of the season last year) because he has the toughest position to learn in PG. Steve is probably the same thing he hasnt played with a bunch of these guys outside of yao really and his position is PG. If he does ever come back to play I would figure its in mid Jan. Adeleman has shown that he is willing to give everyone a fair shot at playing but only after he feels confident in them producing in his system and that comes only with time in practice he isnt going to mess up whats going well with the team just so a guy can get his minutes. I think it could be the same with Dorsey he probably will start getting more minutes off the bench in Feb or so much like how Scola and Landry did last year. whats also nice about doing that it prevents rookies from hitting that "rookie wall"
