i don't think either player is a starter on a contending team. imo, lowry makes a superb backup PG for a contending team while brooks, i'm not so sure he even belongs at the PG position. he is simply a tweener who will help you kill certain teams and screwup your gameplan against others, all dependent on the particular matchups. in an ideal world, morey would package brooks in a trade to get us an elite PG and move lowry back off the bench. and brooks has played so poorly thus far this season, i'd also deal him to get us a decent big and then just develop ish smith off the bench as our backup PG.

When all you have to offer is scoring...and you aren't making shots.....

Crossing my fingers for some major shake ups at the deadline.

I would like to say something nice about Brooks. It is easy for us to take potshots at him now that he has been playing so poorly, but for two years running, he was the team's offense, especially when gimpy and gimpier were not available to play.

Think about it. For most of his bb playing life, because of his diminutive size, Brooks has had to prove to others that he could play. Well, he did it so well that he ended winning the MIP award, not an easy accomplishment giving all the talent in the NBA. With the recognition from the NBA, Brooks thought he had arrived, only to be shaken up by recent circumstances (i.e. no K extension and demoted to the bench).

I truly feel for him, but if he wants his job back and a big contract, he will have to prove again. Life is a biatch, and everyone here knows it.

It appears to me that every single player on the team plays better with Lowry than they do with Brooks.

That's all I need to know. Goodbye, Aaron Brooks.

Aaron even plays better with Lowry than when he plays with Brooks.

Pretty much. If he can be traded to upgrade the 3 or the 5, I'm good with that. The problem is his salary is so small, the rockets will have to combine it with a larger salary unless its another rookie contract player like casspi or jason thompson.

Hahahaha..you only have to look at one thing to prove Lowry is a much better Pg than Brooks. Brooks and the team plays so much better when Lowry is in. Last year's bench carried the team. This is a fact.

To quote the famous DD, "Don't let facts get in the way"

He's always been like that, he's a shoot-first PG. His scoring is what made him a starter, an MIP, and for a little while our first option. He's just not scoring that well right now. If he breaks out of his funk, he's going to be worth having out on the floor again. I don't see any reason why he'd have declined in skill, so I imagine it's just a matter of time.

I still don't think he should be the starter. Lowry is better for distributing the ball and being the general. But Brooks is a great gunner and I think should work great with the second unit, an occassional SG, and as a closer. When he gets out of this slump, I don't see why he couldn't play starter minutes as a 6th man and still earn a good contract.

What stinks is that Brooks has lost a lot of his trade value.

Because their team defense is atrocious.

They score more now than they did last year.

Teams got better, we didn't. We were counting on Yao to be here and he's not. Miller is not the defensive precense we need. We're the same as last year. The bench is not performing due to Brooks' suckage and inability to lead them.

Simply put: AB is not performing up to his level YET so maybe that's why he's not back as a starter. To me, AB should be a starter again because Lowry is better off the bench and AB is obviously struggling because he's pressing.
I think that will go away when he's back at the starting position.

From the video I can definitely say that AB is not happy with the situation and Adelman is not happy with what AB's production. Maybe it's best to part ways since AB will never accept a back-up role for the whole year and Adelman will stick with Lowry as a starter, I think.

Brooks shoots better than Lowry, for everthing else Lowry is better. It's a double edge sword when it comes to the Rockets back court. With no alpha type dominant player on this team, everyone needs to get involved for Houston to have a chance to win everynight. The man best for that is Lowry but he is who he is just look at the record. Those 7 missed shots usually come back to haunt the team in a close one.

This year, there is no go-to guy in the 4th quarter. Last year it was Brooks, Landry, and yes, even Ariza in the 4th quarter. Those guys could all get quality looks in crunch time. Even Ariza, for all his suckiness, hit several big clutch shots at the end of games.

This year: no Landry, Brooks is off his game, and Ariza is gone (thankfully).
