While I'm always for trading a player if it makes a team better, I don't think it does. Yao might step up and lead... but Yao's health makes me not want him to just as much as Tracy's. Fact is, I don't trust Yao to lead a team because I don't trust him to be playing for the team throughout the year. The Rockets need a player to lead the team who can stay HEALTHY. And while Yao might be the healthiest major player on this team, I'd still rather watch Scola lead this team than T-Mac or Yao.

He has to go so keeping him just for his contract and no effort is worst then keeping him.

I would bet Marbury would be playing harder than Grady right now.

well i don't really care how "hard" someone plays, i'm more into results.

I think, as of now, Stephon Marbury is a much better player than Tracy Mcgrady.

I can see Marbury playing really well to shove it into the Knicks face but that would be like trading cancer for cancer.

Here is the way it looks to me:

    1. TMac doesn't feel like playing, physically.

    2. TMac doesn't feel like playing, mentally.

    3. TMac doesn't feel like playing anymore period.

    4. TMac is very rich, but is still playing for money.

    5. TMac needs a buyout deal: the Rockets need motivated and skilled players.

    6. TMac should make a deal to retire, if the Rockets pay him "x" amount over a period of years, not the remaining contract.

    7. Rockets free up some money and sign some players who still want to play.

    What do you think?

What incentive does Tracy Mcgrady have to take any less than he has left on his contract?

He gets out of his obligation to play; he doesn't appear like he wants to continue.

Too bad we can't call back that T-Mac for 'Sheed/Prince. That'd be a nice trade (and one I'd have probably made at the time).

Actually, I think the first proposal was Billups and Prince, then a few weeks later they came with a Hamilton and Sheed offer.

I remember anyone who supported either deal got blasted.

I never openly came out for or against here. I was wishy-washy, but I did discuss it quite a bit with a friend of mine.

And I thought Prince was involved. Hamilton would be even better; his ability to move off the ball would be PERFECT in an Adelman offense.

Good thing you didn't openly support it here. T0Fs would have exposed your inferior Rockets fanhood. ;)

Either deal would have been an absolute STEAL. I bet Dumars is happy we didn't take advantage of him.

"...and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice." :D

    starting line up would be:

Brooks or Alston, Iverson, Artest, Scola, and Yao?

    Or

Iverson, Battier, Artest, Scola, and Yao?

At this point, Tracy for Marbury would be more than acceptable. If for the only reason that Stephon is expiring this year.

It's time for the Talented Loser to leave. The only thing he hasn't done yet is drop his drawers and take a literal dump on the Rockets logo.

I'd make a strong play for someone like Marion first, but at this point it really would be addition by subtraction.

It is time to put TMac on injured reserve OR send him to where Dorsey is , "to rehab his knee." It is not like the Rockets have no options.
