Wtf does he expect? Chinese players wouldn't even get PT in their own league if it wasn't for that rule they have where if a team has an American player that player can only play 2 quarters so that the hometown kid can get some shine too. The Chinese don't believe in competition they believe in fairness which is why they have ZERO competition! If they actually made their players work for their roster spot and made them compete than maybe you would see a higher level of competition in the CBA with better prospects coming out of that league or region of the world.

 

The league gets 700 million from Tencent to stream games.

Just imagine how much more inlfated the pot gets with a couple more token players.

 

He should instead be frustrated by the fact that regular season is pointless due to lack of parity - might as well just fast forward to finals every year as long as GSW and CLE are who they are.

Lol, why would he conceal it? Thats his - and every sports commissioners - job description.

He's paid by the owners to make the NBA as profitable as he can.

 

lol watching nba games, it's debatable whether this league is actually run by it's owners or by vegas gambling interests

but whoever silver does actually report to, the direction they've gone chasing every possible dollar at the expense of the game's integrity -- that group will eventually have to lift the curtain and officially designate this league as 'scripted sports entertainment' and cease masquerading it as competitive sport

Give it some time, in a few years there'll be another gifted player from China. No other league or country has as physical of a basketball league as the US. China's a pretty relatively new basketball country, vs Europe who have players who've honed their skills but still have a bit of trouble transitioning to how "physical" the league is here.

We'll see how it plays out in the future, but as the competition gets better over there their players will eventually adjust too.

 

China needs to put more resources in soaring up their basketball program rather than just gymnastics, diving, and swimming.
