More of a big waste of a #3 overall pick. Possibly the worst #3 player taken in the draft but that's debatable.
I've looked so hard since I saw it on ESPN a few years ago. Never could find one. Would LOVE it if someone found one.
Sun Yue was not a high draft pick, I would not compare a guy the Lakers picked up from China for nothing with a guy the Bobcats wasted the 3rd pick on.
Adam Morrison in the Lakers getting Shannon Brown, is like Brian Cook in the Rockets getting Kyle Lowry. Worst NBA player ever, wont say that. Worst NBA player who played 200+ games, he can enter that discussion if he keeps it up. 1 dimensional chuckers need to be makers. Morrison is like Steve Novak with Rafer Alston shooting.
I watched this game as well and have nothing to say about Morrison, but man, Kobe is just insane and gets better every single year. Looks like working out with Hakeem made him even better (if that was at all possible to begin with).
And Jordan drafted Morrison. Michael Jordan is one of the worst talent evaluators in basketball history.
I'm sorry I have been keeping up with Morrison and REdick since their college days and I have to disagree. They are not the type of players with athleticism or styles where you put them on any team nad they will just play their game, but if given the right system and offense for them, they both have the skllset and mentality to be very productive roll players. Both have high offensive awareness and not just to shoot. Redick isn't going to rack up 10 assists but he often makes the right pass, and positions himself to give the post players good room, thus not in the stat book, yet is awareness and understanding of utilizing his shooting make him a productive player. I have seen the guy improve in defense and althoug he went on a shooting slump, he had his games where he looked in college form, i think if he finds the right system he can be productive same with morrisson, it seems his confidence has been taken from underneath him, but his rookie year where he hit the wall, he quite a few games where when they used him right, I saw him drop 27 points on bruce bowen guarding him the whole game, he's had a 30 p game too, hes best used as off to bench scoring, but he can create his own shot, he needs to get back healthy, confident, and in the right situation where he can get his shots best for him... so i think if their agent can get them to the right spot, they still have a plcae in this league
Also another thing on this, Jordan did draft Morrison and Kwame, but those guys were going to be lottery picks no matter what, its not like MJ is the only one who got fooled, Morrison was a bad pick but he was going to bring tickets and attention to a team that needed it, and he wasn't going to fall past top 5-7 that year, so everyone had him in their lottery it just fell to mj, if he didnt pick him lottery someone else would've its like people think MJ was the only one after him and the only one who fell for morrison, the league pretty much had him in the lottery room same with kwame, hes obviously a bust, but when you see an athletic, nba ready body, 6'11 guy like him, you take him...he would've gone to 2-3 in that draft if not one, he was like dwight, they panned out differently, but jsut based on that potential, any team would've taken him top 3...i am not saying hes the greatest gm, but they prtended like hes the only one who wanted those guys or got tricked by them
Exactly where in the league would be a good place for a low percentage scorer in college? Reddick is useful because he has a great shot. Since that team is full of good shooters he can fit in because when someone passes him the ball he can make the uncontested shot. Morrison has no defense, is not athletic and he is a worse shooter than Rafer Alston. He's not even D-League material, guys like Garrett Temple and Will Conroy will kick his ass.
Maybe people are so hard on MJ because not only is he an arrogant SOB, he doesn't put in even a tenth of the work ethic he has into being a good GM. I believe he did a fairly good job in Washington, but now all he really does is golf around and make impulse decisions as Bobcats GM. Any idiot could tell Morrison was gonna fail in the NBA, all you have to do is look at his FG% in college and know that he's gonna fail miserably in a place where there are even better athletes around. The fact that Jordan picked him 3 shows exactly how much work he did as GM.
How could you be happy being a player and wearing a suit in the finals and not even playing 1 second of it. Haaha
