I have a very immature, machismo way of describing John Lopez...he sounds like a whiny little b**** when he talks. And that doesn't make for good radio. Don't ever remember disliking his writing, just his personality on the radio. His takes could be good for all I know, but I can't stand listening to him.
If you think they're anywhere near the position to get to the WCF without James, you're high. This team is lottery bound without him...particularly last year given how tough the West was. Regardless, for the entire playoffs...he averaged 27 points, 7.7 assists and 5.7 boards. They don't win any of those series without him. Not one. I don't understand your last point. If no one is going to beat the Warriors, then we should trade Harden? He's worthless and just a "stat-compiler"...another Gilbert Arenas? I agree with you...the Warriors are historically great. I don't see them losing to anyone in a 7 game series. It's possible free agency and injury could break that up, eventually...who knows? But I don't see how that reflects on Harden.
I dont like his (Lopez) takes...maybe every now and then, but for the most part, I disagree with his opinions. I like Nick Wright's takes a lot more. I know the dude rubs people the wrong way, but he is actually pretty knowledgeable about the majority of topics out there. He does his homework. Meltzer is probably the guy I agree with the most out of everyone on the radio. I like Charlie too, but his knowledge on sports is insanely crazy, so even if he has a take that I dont agree with, I just chalk it up to him knowing more than I do.
Wow jump to conclusions much? I didn't ever say anything about trading Harden, so I don't know where you even came up with that. I also never compared him to Gilbert Arenas, if you read my post I compared him to TMac. The original point was, if you think this guy is the guy that's going to win us the whole thing your trust is sorely misplaced and you aren't paying attention to what's happening at all.
I didn't necessarily mean you suggested we trade Harden...I had/have no idea what you think about that idea...I'm certain that's where Clanton is on it, and that's what was framing this discussion. In 1992, no one thought Olajuwon was the kind of guy that would win you a title. He was busy faking an injury and later admitted how much growing up he had to do...in his case, it took him recommitting to his faith. Dirk spent most of his career hearing he was too soft to be the guy who could win you a ring. I was one of the people who said that, too. Now, I don't buy that crap. James is 26 years old. He needs to mature, for sure. I totally agree with that. But he has all the tools as a player to be that guy....and I don't put "growing up" past anyone.
Dirk is going to retire as an all time great, and he would have whether he won a championship or not. If you think Harden is in the same category just because his stats look good, I don't know what to tell you. I don't know why you keep bringing up Hakeem either, this isn't the same discussion and you can't compare eras.
I'm unclear why you don't see parallels. People have had to mature before in all endeavors in life...over all of human history. Hakeem was considered to be too immature by many....so is James. Hakeem changed. But because it was the mid-90's and it's not 2016, James can't mature? I just can't imagine saying that a guy who was 3 wins away from leading a team to the Finals at 26 can't lead a team to the Finals EVER. That doesn't make sense to me.
Hakeem was never going out to strip clubs and getting twisted the night before games, or dating star****ers. Quit comparing Harden to Hakeem...I think you're the one who is high right now. You better pray Curry gets hurt or their whole team along with the Spurs dies in a plane crash.
at first i wasn't sure about sean, and the ads and bump voiceovers were annoying (HAY GUYS HOW MANY DIFFERENT WAYS CAN WE SAY SEAN JONES IS AWESOME AND ADAM IS A SAD PATHETIC NON-EX ATHLETE HA HA HA) but i'm a convert. he's smart and insightful and actually does concede sometimes when someone makes a good point. adam is adam. i actually very much enjoy the harden bashing. matt and lance are IT. the fister/hoes PBP this morning nearly had me in tears. yeah, you might have to be extremely immature to really enjoy matt and lance, but goddamnit it's nice to laugh at 8 in the morning when i'm already bummed about working for the next 9 hours.
Damnit. A woman who loves immature humor, loves it via sports talk while getting ready for work, huge sports fan...I believe you and I should mate.
Jones has a law degree, IIRC. Not your average dumb jock on the radio. He used to do a little radio here and there during his playing days in Houston and, yeah, he came off as a pretty fart smeller....er, smart feller.
Great take seclusion. Did you post that with your Gameboy headset on? BTW- Mom is still Mom spelled backwards. Not sure what Sarcasm is. Or inside jokes even. JFC...
AC is not good but I can't stand John Lopez even more. His takes are always so blah. Ever since his spat with Tom Herman and his misreporting I can't even stand to listen to 610 in the morning even when the PGS are on commercial break. He also had a spat with Andre Ware a few months back as well.
He sounds likes the whiney, TMI fat accountant who sits in the dark corner cubicle who speaks just to be heard in between wheezing. Just douche chill worthy.
LOL. Please stay in the basketball forum where humor dies. I'm pretty sure she's not offended, and we'd party. BTW- Wanna battle? Can I be the Lord of White Knight or did you claim him? Is your Proactive irritating your skin today?
