Any idea how quickly they've sold out the last couple of years?

If you buy your tickets now, you can pretty easily be able to sell your tickets closer to the actual ACL Festival date at a profit and at worse break even.

I remember seeing last year on Craigslist prices a little above the final price. So if you buy early, I wouldn't worry about taking a loss later on.

What about Gnarles Barkley, Matisyahu, Ben Harper, Damien "Gong" Marley, Galactic and Massive Attack? They all put on great shows and I had great spots for all of them. Petty's show was awesome. The lightening way off toward the west and the rain topped off what was a fantastic weekend IMO.

I have to agree with your Van Morrison assessment though. He was HORRIBLE. But by the end of that first day, I had seen so many great performances, I didn't care.

eh... actually, last year i bought 4 tickets at $100 each and i sweated out the last week to sell all of mine since i got in free. i only made 20 bucks total...

if you're quick with craigslist, you can probably buy at face value a few days before the festival.

I bought 4. I'm hoping to sell 2. I will have been every year. $120 is about as much as I paid for the first 4 years combined. Last year, I got screwed out of the early bird tix. Same this year as I was 0-3 with the lottery. Oh well. This is the event of the year for my wife and I. I personally thought last year was fantastic. I'm not crazy about Red Hot Chili Peppers but I'd like to see Radiohead. Dylan would be cool, too.

A reliable source from another site has stated that the headliners this year are Bjork, Pearl Jam, & Bob Dylan. He also stated that Bloc Party has signed on.

    Take that as you will.

ACL Fest isn't about the headliners anyway, but I would love to see the Pumpkins or Rage play. Doubt either will.

Enjoyed Bloc Party in '05. Not a fan of Bjork, but wouldn't mind Pearl Jam or the Pumpkins at all.

i really reallly really reallly really really want to see the mars volta. they havent been on tour in forever in texas it seems like. they havent even done a tour for their album that came out several months ago.
anyways... did yal noticed you could throw in your 2 cents on the band lineup for this years show? Just had to list your top 5 you would like to see. i had the:
    1. the mars volta
    2. black star (mos def and talib kweli)
    3. beastie boys
    4. brazilian girls
    5. the roots

i dunno, but i feel ACL does a awful job of being well rounded. i dunno...maybe because im not into all the jamband scene all the time, but they've only had the roots one time. and i think thats been about all the hip hop ive ever seen at ACL.
anyone see the brazilian girls last year? wow! they were that shizzzzzz..... so much fun. gotta get them back for 2007

Well, the list is out... the number one thing that erks me about ACL is all the country music. Im personally not a fan of it. Just dont see how country music fits into a festival lineup consisting mostly indie music and all genries of rock. We are in Texas i guess...
Well the lineup is ok. Im a huge Bob Dylan fan...love his music. But dont really care to see his performace. He is old... watching him now does 0 justice. But like last year for Van Morrison, I'll probably go because it is Bob Dylan.
Anyways... with that said there are a lot of good shows to look forward to.

    My personal list:
    Bjork
    White Stripes
    Heartless Bastards
    Ghostland Observatory
    Gotan Project
    Arcade Fire
    Stephen Marley
    The Dynamites featuring Charles Walker
