Maybe we should have tanked some more though then, we could have gott3n Shelden Williams with the 5th pick. Then again, Tyrys Thomas wenth 4th and that would be so awesome too. We could have paired him with Stromile Swift on the frontcourt!11!!1

Too bad though that we coudn't have got Adam Morrison with the 3th pick or Bargnani but then we would have to develo.. erm.. tank the whole season. It worked very well for Charlotte and Toronto, look at where they are now

 

I'm fine with trading Adleman for some draft picks, but we don't need to bother bringing up any of the assistant coaches, we already have Battier who's ready to step into the job, already on contract. Nothing more money ball then a player-coach.

 

Why is Dakota still posting on this board? Shouldn't he be hired by the Rockets by now for knowing what is best for the Rockets? Not even the coaches are on Dakota's level.

The "15 games left, Adelman please develop!" is probably the stupidest thing I've ever read on the interwebs. And I'm usually a fan of yours DaDa, but your obsession with basketball cliches, such as "leadership" "heart" "develop young guys" "killer instinct" etc.. is ridiculous, you are to the interwebs what Kenny Smith is to "inside the NBA", you keep spewing those nonsensical cliches and you frivolously insist on pursuing those weird abstract ideals.

You allow a Derrick Rose to "develop", freaking Jason Jennings.. Heck, Tyreke Evans. Because they're gonna be your franchise players, your entire team is going to rely on them for years to come, so your sole focus is to have them get the necessary game experience as rookies, even if that means you sacrifice a couple of wins. But Budinger and Hill? are you kidding me? These guys are quality bench players at best. Bud is a poor man's Von Wafer benefiting from Adelman's brilliant utilization of the "spark off the bench" wing player. Hill is, well, Stromile Swift on steroids. There isn't a need to develop these guys, they won't get major minutes on this team and they're not exactly in your future plans.

You don't develop coaches..GM's and owners identify that they're ready to manage a team and give them the reigns to coach as they see fit. More importantly: is this thread a joke?

 

Whats the difference between developing a guy who's going be "a franchise player for years to come" and developing "quality bench players" and "sparks off the bench"? If there's no way in hell your making the playoffs, why would you not develop any rookie who you think will become a contributor? Last time I checked, one player doesn't win championships anymore..you need a big 2 or 3 plus many solid bench players to even get close to winning one.

Budinger and Hill are obviously in our future plans either as role players for a 2011 championship run or as trade bait for a better piece...why not DEVELOP them to become better contributors or at the very least, raise their trade value. Bring a little more substance to your argument instead of spending paragraphs drawing up kenny smith analogies..

Hey, I have my DDingleberries, (many formerly banned posters) can't please everyone....but they all congregate in these types of threads.

It is ok, we just have a difference of opnion, whereas expectations for a season vary.......
