I know what he's talking about... winds of change, the basketball version.

He's also seen Walter Lowe, another Houston based doctor http://www.drwaltlowe.com/, and the Phoenix Suns doctor Thomas Carter. All four shared the same prognosis.

My favorite was the thread about someone overhearing francis or tmac say the team was "going to iso" Yao.

That is why we traded for Artest because of something like this. If we trade Artest for Carter we could have a lineup of

    PG- Alston
    SG-VC
    SF-Battier
    PF-Scola
    C-Yao

    Thats not a bad lineup

At TMac's age, a microfracture surgery could mean the end of his career. I'm sure that the Rockets and TMac's would be looking at all possible alternatives before considering microfracture.

Still, I'm not convinced that this is true. Until the Rockets come out and say something, I'm going to treat this as what it is -- a rumor.

If it is true, we'll probably only get a confirmation on it from the team after the trade deadline. We'll see.

Not bad, but far from a championship contender.

This would basically be the same line-up we had from last year considering McGrady and Vince Carter have somewhat the same type of game.

I am not sure the Rockets could keep it secret for trade purposes. I mean the other team receiving him will physically and medically test him to death before the deal will be finalized.

If we make the playoffs, seven other teams would want to play that lineup in the first round, I'm sure.

it looks 1000x better than the vacuum that is

    Alston
    Tmac
    Battier
    Scola
    Yao

and I would say better than

    alston
    battier
    artest
    scola
    yao

Tmac should delay this, finish the year, help the rox in the postseason, try one last time to leave the first round. If he fails, he can say it's on knee...get it :p

You are right. Dr. Clanton is also reported to have operated succussfully on Liu Xiang, the 2004 Olympic champion and former world-record holder in the 110-meter hurdles who is a friend of Yao.

Right, thats exactly what I meant no FURTHER damage.

IMO whats best for McGrady might actually be that YEAR or more time away from basketball.

The grind of a season obviously affects him, his lack of postseason success affects him mentally. His natuaral inclinations have been to take as much time off as possible anyways, and this way he gets exactly that. And he can clear his head and search within himself if he truly indeed misses basketball and to want to give it another try. Probably not with the Rockets if he gets microfracture surgery

We'll probably see him again hobbling around on the court but microfracture could actually be good for all sides.

Tmac is a liability to this team. If he were 100% or even 85% that would not be true. However, as of right now - he's not going to help the team. He carried us to 22 in a row last year - and that will be the highlight of his career.

Let's just cut our losses at $40 million and walk away from the card table.

You can't take seriously injured soldiers into battle regardless of their experience and skill.

The sun sets on everyone's career eventually. I can hear the somber trumpet dirge.

I'm all out of cheesy analogies.

Note: I reserve the right to jump on the tmac bandwagon if he comes back. :D
