40 bucks and a free self portrait of your car. Get a Garmin and adjust the settings to select "avoid tolls."

I have to admit, thats probably the only 1 thing that DFW has over Houston - the way they handle toll roads. Last time I was in Houston I hit one of those toll roads and had to make a real quick exit when I saw the signs that said you HAD to have a TollTag to use the road. Thats just an idiotic rule. Its simply way too easy for an out-of-towner to hop on the toll road thinking its a normal toll road like everywhere else in the state.

    Toll roads: DFW >>Houston
    Regular Freeways: Houston >> DFW
    Everything Else: Houston >> DFW

Sorry Mr. Brightside, but my Father in-law works for Txdot and I asked him this exact same question several times... They tested them all the way to 180MPH, it must be the angle of the license plate or some spray you used to get away with it if you did go 120..

You've been around long enough to know Mr. Brightside's shtick......check your sarcasm meter and re-read his post. ;)

I am an ez tag fine paying expert thanks to my husband (I want to kill him for the amount of fines he racked up without my knowledge). Anyway, call them NOW if you haven't already and you can just pay 1.75 or whatever the toll was without additional charges. If you wait it will be a $35 administrative fee added on. It takes a couple of days for your plate to get in their system, so the perfect time to call is today.
