I hope so after what I seen tonight from the celtics all that trash talking and dirty play am I the only one that noticed that? kg getting rafer a tech leon powe getting into it with brent barry and at the end of the game grabbing and so on. I dont like how they play especially kg but thats just me talking
To be honest i'm not really that optimistic about Battier's return. I think the team is more effective with Artest, Mcgrady, and Barry taking his minutes. Other than moving Artest to the 4 some, i would rather see the other 3 on the court more anyway.
Probably the best I'll feel about after a loss all season. This team hasn't gelled yet, no battier, and honestly, tmac isn't close to being "tmac" yet. Oh yeah, and Yao played what will hopefully be his worst game of the season. If after all that you tell me that we lost by 4 to the defending champ Boston Celtics, I have to be somewhat content. The kinks of this game will fix themselves, and this is a team still on the beginning of its rise. No worries. One final note...I know there was an article on the rox website, but this Barry/Brooks combo has shown some good stuff early on. Hopefully, this can become another special duo, much like "Scolandry" last season.
Ray Allen would not have torn us a new one in the fourth if Shane was sticking on him. I am not worried at all.
do you know how often allen scored on us with artest on pierce? battier would have definitely helped limit him today.
So right, if Yao had has an average game, it could go the other way easily. This one lose ,does not change anything at this point of the season , but the fact we almost won against an excellent team ,without battier ,and actually without yao ,makes me really confident in this team... If battier will make this team even better defensively, it is going to be really scary.
There's no way that's true. Battier isn't a stats machine, but he provides something Tmac and Ron can't provide. Efficiency. Ron does some good things, but does some bad ones as well, as does Tmac. Battier usually does no wrong. He does the very little things that no one notices. He's the guy who sets the perfect pick that gets a guy open for a layup, he's the guy who tips a rebound that most guys wouldn't even try to get to a teammate. He's the guy who cuts off the man with the ball before he gets an open layup, Those things don't count towards the stats, but are just as important, the fact that not many do those things makes them even more important.
Also, about Battier, he knows where he has to be. Lately they seem to be running around on D with their heads cut off like no one knows their assignment or who to pick up. They're indecisive. Battier is the kind of guy who doesn't ask questions or looks dumbfounded, the guy will pick up whoever needs to be picked up and when a guy makes good decisions instantly like that, it makes it easier for the rest to fall in bcause that's one less thing for them to worry about.
Having Rafer as our starting (and apparently closing) PG against the CP3's, D-Wills, Rondos, etc. in the league doesn't make me too happy.
Great thread by one of few posters here who isn't emotionally unstable and quick to throw out insults - one that is still attached to reality. Thank you and I totally agree with you!
Good game guys.. Boston was in top form tonight.. Allen shooting so well.. Kendrick Perkins (of all ppl) coming up good for boston... etc . etc.. but still we got so close... despite yao having a sissy-esque game and ron throwing bricks and missing dunks .. not to mention rafer ... did u notice that ron took 10 3-pt attempts.. man.. that is just madness.. what do you guys think abt that? and T-MAc was fabulous ... great game from him.. He is showing signs of recovering.. and to hell with all you t-mac haters!
Celts not necessarily at their best either. Nothing to cheer after a loss. We had a lousy game, maybe because of the Celts defense, maybe just because we are not good enough. Let's go around at least once with the every heavyweights, then we will have rough idea where we are at.
We'll be fine. It's gonna take time for everyone to get used to each other. The road trip will tell us a lot.
OMG I can't believe how bad Yao played he played like he was a rookie he needs to be benched in for Dorsey he is a person that can limit Allen. Yao needs to be traded!!! ... okay, I'm done.

although i am disappointed with the loss, there is no need to overreact. we're 4 games into the season and we're still learning to play with each other. we'll be fine.
