McEnroe had some of the greatest hands / hand-eye coordination in the history of athletic competition. He regularly plays on the senior tours today, and is still sharp.
For those claiming he could probably beat S. Williams today, I don't doubt you. McEnroe is no misogynist Bobby Riggs. He's one of the greatest players to ever pick up a racket.

Serena actually lost easily to like the 800th man on the men's side years ago. A decent division I tennis player would have a good match with Serena. The gap is humongous.

Think of it this way, how would Diana Taurasi/Lisa Leslie do against men? They would probably struggle against division I talent.

I'm not saying anything for or against if serena can win, I just posed the question: however, this match you are referring to was when she was a rookie. Plus you were talking about a ranked, savy veteran, put that guy up against the serena of 2002 and he'd get destroyed.

McEnroe was bigger, stronger, and faster than her. How is this a contest.

Serena in her absolute prime, would never even sniff getting out of the future/challenger circuit (minor league) of the men. I actually think she wouldn't even make it out of the qualifying rounds for those events. It's really not even close.

Even if Serena got ripped in 4 weeks, she'd still lose to Mattress Mac in a game of tic tac toe.

    Men always win.

The OP must have never played a set of tennis in his life. Even any top 50 NCAA men's collegiate player could beat both Venus and Serena in their prime.

    Do you even watch tennis?

(Also, if you haven't noticed, Serena Williams is years past her own prime.)

Mcenroe would win easily. I guess if you wanted to let Serena use this:
