1. Who said that? I thought people believed her story because Kavanaugh lied and that they didn't believe him? I don't remember senators saying "She must be believed because she is a woman." and no, people on twitter don't count, unless they are actually legislators I suppose. I thought the argument was that women rarely come forward with such accusations because it ruins their lives and therefore Ford coming forward with it benefits her in no way. I think the GOP will regret putting Kavanaugh on the court and if they wanted to, they should have let the investigation drag on just to show they care about the credibility and when the keep the senate (because they should) it would have been complete egg in the face of the Democrats if they could exonerate Kavanugh completely or vice versa, it would have been good for the country to see Democrats and Republicans work together on something. 2. You're talking about a new york law that a bunch of right-wing talking heads lied about to scare other right wingers into action. Saying that you would be fined if you didn't correctly say someone's gender. This is false. The law is just your general 'don't discriminate against transgender people' and is more of a guideline that you shouldn't harass and discriminate against Transgender people. 3. Which mainstream Democrat supports Antifa? I dunno, I've never seen Schumer or Pelosi come out and endorse Antifa. I've even seen super progressives go at Antifa like Cenk Uyger, the biggest progressive media person out there. I personally have no issue with people screaming at politicians in public. Get out the kitchen if you can't handle the heat. These people make decisions that affect lives, of course people are going to get angry and emotional about it. You would be too if said decision prevented a loved one from getting proper healthcare. We've also seen Republicans violently make political statements, right wing terrorism is a thing. Actually, a guy was arrested because he said he'd kill any republican voting No on Kavanaugh. 4. Well, it may be your belief, but realize things like the police force, our military, fire department, infrastructure like roads...are socialist policies. Most of the best countries have what we call Mixed Economies because we realize some things should not have a profit motive 5. I'm not so sure Kavanaugh will overturn Roe v Wade either actually and I think there is a chance Roberts does it as he claims he cares about the legitimacy and public opinion of the court...it is his court now and I think even he'd see overturning Roe V Wade would sink public opinion and he may use the 'precedence' argument and he's the one everyone is expecting to be the swing voter which means I think he will give up on certain fights to establish this and abortion may be on of those fights he concedes...we'll see. Still, while I agree with states rights, states shouldn't deny rights to people. We had a civil war about that after all, and states shouldn't deny rights women should have over their bodies. I'm 'Pro-life' to a certain point. I don't agree with late term abortion. In fact if the GOP wanted to ban abortion past 10 weeks I'd be all for it and give them the thumbs up. 6. There really is nothing to argue here, I'm glad we can agree on this and it's good to see that most Republicans are for the LGBT community having equal rights. 7. You are right here. I don't blame Trump for nominating a conservative judge. Not at all, Clinton would have nominated a liberal judge...my worries here is with Ginsburg. It would surprise no one if something happened to her before elections in 2020...then what? It would be nice for the GOP to reach across the aisle and give the Democrats their 'stolen' judge back in Garland, who was more of a moderate anyway, and would help to healing the divide across the parties...but I fully expect that they would replace her with another conservative judge. While we should have textualists on the court, ABSOLUTELY we should also have contextualists on the court because the world changes and the founders wanted our country to change with the world. If 8. The Kavanaugh thing has certainly riled up the GOP base but it has done so for the liberal base as well. Also, polls indicate that most of the country believes in Ford, especially women. So, you have to ask yourself this question. If a serious accusation popped up about a SCOTUS nominee should it be ignored? I'll even concede that the timing of it may have been political but I'd argue it should never be ignored...and if it takes a few more weeks to get to the bottom of it, to find the truth, to fill a vacancy of the highest court of the USA then so be it. That's how I feel about it. Any ways, I think i've said all I've had to say...for now at least.
The modern day republicans are the southern democrats that supported slavery dumbass. This **** is like poli-sci 101. Leave the basement every once in a while
Real “entitlement” is when someone has the audacity to violate the Biden Rule by nominating a SC judge during a presidential election year.
A Southern Democrat in 1980 would be considered a Right Wing Republican in 2018 by liberals. The people didn't move, the party did.
A Democrat in 1994 would be considered a right wing Republican in 2018 assuming their ideology didn't change.
The only instance where this statement would be accurate would be in terms of LGBT rights. Watch a speech about immigration from Ronald Reagan and then watch a speech about immigration from Donald Trump .
Being a liberal in 1865 was a lot different than being liberal today. I know it's hard to believe but liberals used to have principles.
I'm sorry but until you learn the actual Biden rule and the difference in the time left before the old President left office and the next president would be sworn in from the time of the Biden rule until Garland's nomination, you are no longer allowed to refer to or use the term "Biden Rule". I didn't want to have to pull that card, but there is no longer any choice.
I don’t agree with all of your points but I think you made reasonable arguments and we agree on some things. Cheers.
It's getting so old. I don't know if it is worse than before. Or I have just been reading it for too long. I wish I could quit this section of Clutchfans just like I did Facebook because of the over the top and constant politics.
Jesus you're a shitty poster. You've elected an ignorant, racist buffoon who couldn't pass a basic civics exam, literally can't tell the truth about anything, and thinks his job is to be entertaining by calling people names and acting like a fool. Mkay. Let me play your stupid game. Republicans want open season on school children being murdered in their classrooms. Republicans want to limit your voting rights. Republicans want dark money and foreign influence in our elections. Republicans want corporations to be people, because they obviously are, duh. Republicans want a die quickly health care plan for you and your family. Republicans want to strip you of your privacy rights. Republicans want to give tax cuts to corporations so they can inflate stock prices. Republicans want to destroy unions and further erode worker rights. Republicans want to pollute the environment and pass the buck to future generations. Republicans want to steal the social security benefits you've earned. Republicans want an AR15 in everyone's hands because it takes a good guy to kill a bad guy, derp. Republicans think you can't stop people from shooting each other because the rap music doe, not the fact there are more guns than people floating around. Yeeeeeah, boy that was difficult.
The myth of Lincoln being the great emancipator is still alive. This is what happens when history is revised.
I guess these upstanding forces for good forgot about the kamikaze job they did on Obama for eight years. Karma's a b****.
