ABOUT UNIFORM THREADS - PLEASE READ

I feel like the dark red will resemble the new Cavs uni's. I also feel that the cavs uni's are just an updated version of our old red and gold jerseys. Our new uni's should have been something similar to theirs, but that idea is obviously taken. Thats what happens with a slow franchise. I guess we will just resort to updating the pajamas. sweet.

So I guess we can exect the "Dazzle" threading look like Miami and Denver now has, huh Tim? Dazzle thread is a shiny material trademarked by Reebok for those who dont know. Its just like Nike has "dryfit" material which is used by the Lakers, Pistons, Raptors.............its that dry looking thread they have. Nike also has the "swingman cut" jersey while Reebok has that "street" cu basketball vest that you see the Sixers in.

So I guess we should expect to see some shiny red "street" cut vests then Tim, being that were are going with Nike.

If we do go with the "Dazzle" effect I hope it has something like the old Magic jerseys with like the stars in the backround. We are the Rockets.

 

Damn, there's just something off to me about the way those look. I'd prefer the traditional way the jersey is, but as long as it's silver and red it's all good.

 

Umm..........................If my memory serves me correctly, Reebok has never made "Dazzle" fabric for Dark Red before.

That settles it then, our uni's will more than likely be a "Shiny" Dark red.

It wont happen. The Magic employed a fashion designer (some chick named Shante' I believe) to design those uni's in time for there 10th anny. The "blended-in star pattern" was part of her design. I dont think Eiko Ishioka (fashion designer who is designing Rockets new uni's/logo) would copy another designer's work.

Besides, there styles are totally different. Shante' is supposed to design bright, happy stuff while Eiko's designs are often dark, mysterious, and pretty intriguing. It will be VERY interesting to see what she comes up with for the Rockets.

I've heard that ALL six design templates Eiko came up with for the Rockets were all sooooo cool, the Rockets and NBA Properties had a hard time choosing which one to go with, which caused a delay. Is that true Tim?

I havent seen this in the thread, so if its been posted before excuse me, dont feel like reading pages of this stuff this morning.

John and Lance of 610AM reported today June 30th:

When Badine was drafted he was given a R E D Rockets cap. Nothing was said about the logo. I didnt stay up to watch it so I can not confirm this. I believe the Rockets draft cap on the NBA.com store was still navy though.

Also, the next thing they said is that there wouldnt be a major event to unveil the new logo or unis but instead we will see it gradually coming to the public over the next few weeks.
I know that goes against pretty much everything weve heard, but thats what was reported by 610AM, your Rockets station this morning.

 

Ok question: Are we going to see the new Rockets unis by the 6th(Summer league) or are they going to use a the old unis for these games?

Actually, it is exactly what has been reported here on this board (by those supposedly in the know) - that it will be a subtle and broad release.

 

I could be wrong, but I don't think they wear the normal uniforms during the summer league games.

 

Durring the Summer league they wear workout shirts and shorts, kinda like what you see the rocks wear durring practice.
